What's the threshold a topic needs to pass before...

Just wanted to clear this matter up.

If you have something useful to contribute, then there's no real threshold.

If you have nothing useful to contribute then don't post.

It's also pretty logical to assume that anything not on the main page is too old to bump.

First 2 pages or 2 weeks is the generally accepted guideline. If you do bump something older, and its glowing and amazing and adds new insight into our lives, then it is ok to bump. Otherwise, let sleeping dogs lie.

Actually, that's something. Make a new thread in response to an older thread, but quote some posts or privide a link to the thread.
