Re: New Apartment
Restaurants have a plethora of different customers while nursing homes are just old people.

Re: New Apartment
main difference: restaurant is in an incredibly stressful environment, retarded and late hours, stupid amounts of labor and very little pay. All the food is made to order and people love to complain all the time. I would usually work with 7-8 other people. I would get paid $10.25 per hour and overtime was never paid.
nursing home is incredibly calm, very professional, and the least stressful job i've ever had. All the food is prepared for each meal, and is pre-determined by a weekly menu. If the old folks don't like, they always like the 2nd choice of generic chicken and gravy. I work with 1-2 people until 3pm then I'm alone till 6pm to finish my shift. I get paid $21.10 per hour and overtime is anything over 37.5 hours in a week. so yeah I'd never go back.

Re: New Apartment
Funny when someone with a similar level of appearance tries to insult someones looks. Well no, that isn't funny. That's more pathetic.

Re: New Apartment
Pretty good. All of these people bitching about how I don't get paid anything motivated me to find a new job though so that's what I'm trying to do this week

Nothing.

Re: New Apartment
Good! Glad you're realizing this. Too many people waste far too many years of their lives before realizing that their time is worth far more than a chain restaurant or store is going to pay. IMO if you don't make enough to live on your own by yourself COMFORTABLY, then you need a new job. How long have you worked there?

Re: New Apartment
I've been there since September 2008, manager since January 2009, the month I turned 18.
I will say that I started in KC at 8.50 per hour, and got bumped up to 9.25 that summer. If I was still in KC I would probably be making around 10.50 right now but I'm not there anymore. I'm in one of the worst labor markets in the country, which is why I'm back at 8.50 |

Re: New Apartment
that doesn't mean there aren't decent paying jobs available though. food chains in general will always take a shit on you. though your management experience will go very far.

Re: New Apartment
Just thought this would be appropriate here. I left a great review of the place that I'm moving out of. I've never hated living somewhere as much as I've hated this place.
http://eastbay.citysearch.com/profil...el_island.html But rent was super cheap couldn't complain. Renting a 2 bed 2 bath for $473/m in a mobile home park. |

Re: New Apartment
I love writing negative reviews for things. They're so fun to write and even more fun to read. It's the only good part about having a shitty experience somewhere.
