Sigh... Good times. I graduated in June, so now I dont have a band to play in. I need to find another group. I really want to keep my music going.
Yeah, trumpet was my first instrument also. |

Nah, trombone. I don't know if it's harder on trumpet, probably is a bit harder.
I don't remember how it would look like on treble clef, but I know which one you're talking about. Actually the highest I can play on trombone that sounds good is a high F which is one note below but an octave above. P.S. I AAAA'd trombone. |

Just wait until you see the trumpet parts in jazz band pieces. High Fs and Gs (as in an octave above the ones at the top of the staff) aren't uncommon in the first trumpet part. The second trumpet part generally hangs around high B, although I've played several pieces where it goes to high E and F. So, how many trumprt players here were raised on Arban's? <3 those 14 Characteristic Studies. |

Sounds pretty cool. I for one actually played the flute (Much harder than it seems), and got really good at it. Gets pretty hard to hit high Ds through high Fs on a flute (Yes, the ones WAY up there), but the songs we played required a lot of it. Good luck with that, MM!

i like how my school's band sucks so much, they don't play during half time anymore because they get boo'd off the field.

The fact that no one seems to know of Arban's trumpet method saddens me greatly.
