Play your song and shut the hell up already. Maybe, just maybe, you'll improve enough to get the tokens you want that way instead of this "woe is me" tirade like with HappyHardcor3. Or don't play your song and get eliminated round 1 while you work on getting Scarhand Standard. You're here for the tokens, right? FUCKING WORK FOR IT. Hell, I came back because of the 50% AAA token and I'm a couple hundred short.

Re: Official Tournament Round 1 Files
Jump stream has always seemed to be a pretty strong skill for a lot of the upper FFR players.

I'm terrible at it myself, but definitely have noticed in a lot of the OTs divisions like 6 tend to wreck JS.

Re: Official Tournament Round 1 Files
I've played all the songs again and I maintain my opinion that these are the best openers out of ALL official tournaments. Maybe the increased difficulties make for far more interesting files!

Re: Official Tournament Round 1 Files
All of the files in this round were great. Regardless of their respective difficulties, the intensity felt just right for a tournament opening. Funny function in particular was lovely.
Hope D6 doesn't get too savage in the first round as I'll only be able to really try in the last two days, and I'm already a pile of nerves without pisswater on my neck. Last edited by AutotelicBrown; 06-26-2016 at 12:05 AM.. |

Re: Official Tournament Round 1 Files
D1-D5 were all nice files and enjoyable.
Funny Function - Feels like a solid 72 imo. This was probably my favorite file and song of the whole round. les carnaval des animaux - Certain parts of the file were fun but I can't help but not enjoy some of the off sync feel it has to it especially the intro trills. I'd rate this file around 77-78 as I was able to actually AAA this file somehow and when trying to warm up on all the other 79+ songs I could not get up to that skill level I used to have but I was able to play some 77s and get close AAAs on them so I used that to consider this songs rating. I don't think it deserves a scarhand unlock. oppIrish - I'm sad to see that I can no longer play at this difficulty and have fun with these kinds of songs but it looks really fun. From looking at it and attempting to play through the entire song a few times I think it fits at 90+ rating though.

Re: Official Tournament Round 1 Files
Probably the first to say this but I'm not a huge fan of the D5 file. It's alright I guess, but the D6 song is epic. D7 is just wtf.

Re: Official Tournament Round 1 Files
Wouldn't put D6's file higher than 74/75.
Hardest part is arguably the offsync intro trills, but Flight of the Bumblebee which is entirely offsync trills is 74. The jumpstream is super smooth and is nowhere near harder than the jumpstream section of Punch You, which is also a 74. The burst sections, though more like awkward streams since they're not very fast, aren't very demanding compared to other burst files like say Phalanx, a 71 last I checked. |

Re: Official Tournament Round 1 Files
What are peoples opinions on the D3 and D4 files?
I started the tournament at low D3, and imo the file is like, a 30-33 file at most, nothing too overly difficult in it to hit except perhaps the ending part. Throughout round 1 I somehow hit an epiphany and leveled up my skill, and hit D4.. tried the D4 song for fun and nearly SDG'd it first try, really fun. D4 song probably around 50~ or so, I'd say. The D5 song is still too hard for me to do with a respectable PA though, unfortunately. |

red sphere blue sphere? ive never seen a 50 that has those kinds of trills and what not. i'd put it more in the mid-high 50's range, a notch below addict since that one's faster and the same file type. so maybe ~56? |
