Windows Vista?
Does anyone have windows vista on there computer? If so how the **** do you play this game? My dad just went out and spent $1,400 on a new computer for me, and its a hunk of **** just because it has vista on it. The retarded part about the whole thing is, my friend's dad has the same computer and his runs amazing. Thats why I bought the same one...however; his has windows XP.
So my question is: Is there something I can do to make it run FFR better, or do i have to go out and spend another $200~ on windows XP? |

Re: Windows Vista?
I have vista, and FFR works just fine, however when we first got it, for some strange reason youtube videos and ffr didn't work.
We reformatted and everythings good now. Vista has a lot of problems with the whole java/flash thing, you should google it. That's what i did =/ |

Re: Windows Vista?
Wtf, I dunno whats the matter then, this is the one that I bought:
And the total came to around $1,400 like I said before...but thats only because i bought a different monitor with it. But the tower itself was $899.99 with tax. So it should be running good, I dont get it. |

Re: Windows Vista?
I love it. I think people just got the impression that it wasn't so great because they downloaded the beta, which was full of bugs and errors.
EDIT: That's the nearly the same computer I bought for 2,100$. Mine has different processors though, also came with a 22" LG. Last edited by Triplex72; 06-27-2007 at 06:11 PM.. |

Re: Windows Vista?
Well first off you have a HP
I honestly don't know why it's giving you issues, if you're running firefox and the flash update it should be running fine |

Re: Windows Vista?
My friend has vista and a gig of RAM. While idling it uses 60% of the RAM.
=X Wait a while before getting Vista, it certainly isn't worth it right now. |

The guy at staples told me he had a HP too and he played CS and MS and a bunch of games and it ran really good. And im running IE, but the weird thing is...I have 2 computers in my room, and the other one next to me isnt that expensive what so ever, but it has windows XP and it runs crazy for FFR. |

Well, regardless of if you wait, the RAM usage isn't going to change. But yeah, mine is using 664MB all the time.

Re: Windows Vista?
I didnt want to get vista, they told me thats what all the new computers have installed in them. I hate it, I want XP but I didnt want to have to go and spend an extra $200 on top of the $1400 that I just spent, yanno?

Re: Windows Vista?
Vista has a ton of hardware and software compatibility issues at the moment. Wait until the first service pack and a price drop in my opinion.
The thing is that sometimes Vista works, sometimes it doesn't. This happens with almost everything when Vista's running, so just keep reinstalling/reformatting/whatever until it works, I would think. Not much else you can do until Microsoft solves the compatibility issues. |
