Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Oh man, the SDG cutoff for D4 is getting smaller and smaller. I'm thinking by tomorrow night it's going to be maybe ...2 or something.

Also any reasonable player can agree samurai7694 was just unlucky last tournament. A difference of 1 good means you can do the file, but you didn't turn out so fortunate. Honestly the only problem I have with anyone else getting #1 is that they're getting like 20 goods on DP's last trill and having some relatively simple stuff give them so many problems, yet they're tackling really weird anchor crap. Earlier as I said, the person I would want #1 most if it isn't me is Sakish, because he was one of *the most* influential players back in 2008 for me. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I'm actually alright with it. The fact I got a chance through shitty lag to improve makes it alright.
Also that Boo was rather stupid as that's not even the part of the chart that I think is the gayest. I just got nervous. Replay's in the scores thread. Edit: But because I can. MOTHER. ****ING. BOOFLAG. Last edited by Xx{Midnight}xX; 07-14-2012 at 12:15 AM.. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I wish I had more time to practice and try and get an inkling of my old skill back to where it was, but I've realized that's going to take more time than I've been given. I can't even FC the D5 song without mashing a small section or two.
So looks like I'll be out first or second round for sure. Good luck to everyone! |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
so you don't want people to beat you in the tournament because they're not as good as you at shit patterns

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Actually, it's the other way around
They're better than me at shit patterns but taking the same unthinking approach to the files which screws them over sometimes LMFAO I've seen them make comments about actually taking some screenshots of certain parts of the files though, so they're actually getting a closer look now. That's literally the only reason I have been able to stand any chance at all; my first FC on Rave7 was 12-1-0-0 before any inspection

That's not an excuse. Results are results, and I'm not about to hinder my progress in the tournament because something happened with the engine, nor should you to sit and say that people are whining and complaining when even you were having an issue with the old engine yourself. None of us were having issues before, so it's far from unreasonable to complain about it. Finding a solution to get a horribly outdated engine to run properly when your default engine (or preference, as you say) isn't working properly is contradictory because it doesn't solve the initial problem that -we're- having. Call it an excuse, but your "solution" isn't viable. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 07-14-2012 at 02:53 AM.. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Saw Middie's post before it got deleted
This is the 7th Official FFR Tournament, not the Official Fetish Tournament thread guys, LMFAO Also, I really think Velocity should consider uploading an earlier engine before all this lag started occurring for a lot of players. Unless the dashboard also has some extra script which the earlier engines didn't have. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Oddly enough I'm running Flash 11 Standalone (32bit) on Win7 using Velo's engine, like always, and there has not been a grain of additional lag except the visual lag syndrome in which the notes seem choppy every 1/5th playthrough, i which case I boo out, hit try again and it's fixed. I sincerely do hope that the lag is fixed for others or at least can be identified as to what is causing it, because I'd go berserk if I'd lose due to something like lag.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I think R^2 should have been temporary given public access during Official Tournament to compensate lag. It's a veteran only feature but still.. that's kind of counter-productive for lag issues and competition in general.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Either you don't know what viable means or you just felt like using it in a sentence today.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/viable See definition 3 It worked for me, and I'm sure it could work for someone else, that's why I posted it in the first place. I too was having lag issues, realized my problem was using flash11, switched to flash9, used the legacy engine and BOOM it worked... so please tell me again how that is not "viable" now that you really know the definition... Oh, what's that, you mean it IS viable? Well I already knew that. Thanks brah

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I myself am not really having any major problems with lag, but for those who are, I really think something should be done soon, otherwise it isn't very fair compared to the few of us who don't have the problem.
While I may have done some 'complaining' about people who should be bumped to D5, when it comes to actually playing against people at my skill level, I would rather play against them when they aren't lagging like shit. |
