i like how the Man U goalie was about to turn into the Incredible Hulk, he was so happy... yet he did nothing. He didn't stop that shot... was pure retard luck that the guy slipped and kicked it off the pole. Sure, he got the stop on the 7th shot, but the fact that he was all like, "YES!!! I'M THE ****ING MAN!!!" on the 5th shot was just stupid. He should have been on his knees, thanking some higher being for saving his ass.

Also, this once again re-affirms how much I hate soccer... how is it possible that someone can be down on the ground for 45 seconds, writhing in pain and agony, screaming out to his maker to kill him to end the pain... then 10 seconds after that, after seeing he isn't going to draw a yellow card on his opponent, he'll hop back up and be good as new. Awful. Play the game, don't cry like a baby and try to act your way to glory. At least the soccer guys don't complain too much at ref calls, as opposed to the NBA.

Tass, that's a known problem with soccer. Professional clubs probably have special trainers that even train their players to simulate a "foul"

If you've ever noticed, players fall all the time without the oponent even laying a finger on 'em, sometimes even getting a foul for it. Same thing when they complain about yellows.... oh well you kinda get used to it.

By the way, the red card to Drogba was absolutely priceless. TBH it was comical seeing him slap Vidic upside the face hahaha.

I'm a Man U fan so I was pleased when Terry targeted the fans with his penalty lmao.

yea. i had no issue with the red card or the yellows from the "fight"... but the dancing and flopping is just disgusting. they should get called for that. Hockey has a penalty for flopping.

You act as if Reggie Miller was non-existant. I'm only using one man as an example, but I can probably point out a fair share of basketball flops if I wanted to. I'll readily admit that flops happen a lot in soccer, but they happen a lot in other sports as well. Soccer just so happens to be the most popular sport in the world (by fact).

Well, United were the better side in the first half, and Chelsea were better in the second half. I thought extra time was pretty even. You could justify either side winning.

Shame it had to go to penalties really. I'm not a great fan of shootouts myself, partly due to the huge element of luck, and partly because the English are so terrible at them. But yeah, United won, I'm happy.

pure: i did mention the NBA... although flopping is not a HUGE issue there, like it is in soccer. the biggest issue in the MBA is the arguing and flipping out over EVERY SINGLE FOUL CALLED. dear lord. they tried to put in a rule last year that arguing would result in a technical foul... but if they had actually enforced it to the letter of the rule, every team would have half their players ejected from 2 technicals. so, it was enforced somewhat, and lots of guys got Ts... but they removed the rule after 1 year. And now the NBA is unwatchable except for the playoffs, because of the whining and looks of "What? So what if I just elbowed that guy in the face... his face was in MY way... that's a foul on HIM!" With his arms extended out, palms up, and a look of shock and awe on his face.

hehe, terry can't shoot, tevez can't catch a pass when in the area, and ronaldo is too over his head for his own good. He couldn't even watch the rest of the shots because he was so ashamed.

VAN DER SAR is my hero. Amazing calls on those penalty shots.

Chelsea lost

but we had it

then we lost

hibernation time now

Edit: I don't blame Terry for the loss...if he hadn't made that header in the first place to prevent a sure goal then there wouldn't have been a PK shootout anyway.

Perhaps it's an issue about a station or stations, but my mom Aunt, and friends can find the NBA anytime they want, and it certainly isn't overshadowed by news on soccer.

I'm pissed off because Comcast doesn't offer ESPN 360. I'm a Fulham fan, but I wanted Chelsea to win.

pure: i said it's unwatchable... as in, i can't stand to watch it because it makes my blood curdle. not that you can't FIND it to watch. especially during the playoffs... it's on ESPN, TNT, and ABC... depending on the day and time. Although now with the Conference Finals on, it'll just be ABC or ESPN.
