Default Beatmania for PS2

I really want to play Beatmania for a console/arcade but the closest thing that I can get where I live is the PS2 version. It's thirty bucks brand new with one controller and I looked at the songs list and am wondering... is it worth thirty bucks? I really want to buy it but I think that there are some other games that I want.

It used to be $60 but I wouldn't even consider buying it then but for $30 I think that it would be ok.

Any thoughts?

If you are new to the Beatmania series then i would say that Beatmania US is perfect for you. Lots of easy songs to get you started and some favorites from regular beatmania/ddr. If your a veteran beatmania player then you'll probably hate it. Its basically an americanized 9th style with a purple gui. Also its has a much easier grading scale. Personally i bought beatmania us just for the controller >>

Buy it for the cheap controller then import the real games.

I bought the same exact thing. I guess it's worth it if your a beginner, there is a very limited song selection though.

If your new get it, if you a vet or experienced buy it and then go to a radio shack and get a PS2 to USB converter (look up your devices first) and play beatmania stepfiles off a simulator, much more fun than the actual game. Beatmania stepfiles can be found at www.simulationstyle.com.
