You know what's effed ? That recent buddies thing on aim. People who I don't know are automatically added to my list. Generally, I use send/get file. No direct connections and I never ever open anything from people I don't know.

Question: Is this virus an IE thing or mozilla firefox....?

Neither. It just opens the link in your default browser.

It's not a client, it's just a link that is sent to you. You can only get infected by clicking the link (and downloading the file? i'm not sure)

You aren't immune from the virus trying to be sent to you, but for all I know trillian could prevent the spread.

I got on AIM specifically to get sent one of these... and I failed.

Darn. I want a virus too. I've only had like 50 people fail miserably on my Yahoo e-mail account daily in recent days.

"Delivery Failure Notification!" 45k e-mail with an attachment. GG. I wish I actually sent e-mails.

ddrruler, you have it backwards. Anyone who does click the link spreads it to people on their buddylist.

Squeek, if you want me to fake one and have it link to goatse, say the word.

I had one like that like beginning of Febuary i think, left my MSN on and came back to find like 10 messages from different people with the same thing, so i didn't click it. Yey me!
But i haven't renewed Norton or put any spyware detector on computer for almost a year so who knows what is slowly eating it away. Silly me!
Hmm actually does anyone know a good spyware remover thing, and a free virus stopper thing?
