Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
I'm sure what Robby meant was that he doesn't like the concept of the Wii.
And let me tell you, if every game was based heavily on the motion control, I probably wouldn't bother with the Wii either. It'd be too gimmicky. Oh and by the way, the question about the PS3 isn't whether or not it'll be a decent system. The problems come from: low production numbers, high cost, low availability, the fact that people buy just to resale, low numbers of interesting games at launch. Honestly, if the PS3 was more reasonably priced, and not so rare, I would love to have one. The fact is, however, that Nintendo has Sony beat in all of the ways that Sony has failed.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Five more days. I will be investing my entire $500 paycheck into this purchase.
Why would they release this on a Monday? Seems to me like many more people would be able to buy it on a weekend.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
I'm gonna cream myself when I get my hands on it. I don't care what anyone says, Nintendo is gonna win this generation of consoles hands down. They're the only ones who want you to not just have fun but to move around while your doing it. Goodness knows I'm gonna jump around my living room playing Twilight Princess, shooting aroows and listening to the sound come out of my controller

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
So I took a trip to Wal-Mart and Target today.
Both stores are honoring the street dates to the end. They will be holding back inventory of the console, games, and accessories until Sunday. Meaning those who actually get the console will have a chance to get games. Sweet. Thank you Target. Especially for that $20 rebate you offer. Buy three games on launch day, get $20 back in the form of a gift card. That's an even better deal than Costco's bundle that they won't be selling on launch day because they hate everyone. Oh, and they had two games already out. Some Disney movie game and Excite Truck. They even had a console in the store that I could ogle. It was most fun. The problem was it started pouring outside while I was checking it all out =/ So, assuming I can get what I want, we're looking at Zelda, Monkey Ball, and Red Steel. Hey, if I have to get three, might as well get Red Steel before figuring out if anyone else likes it. I'm sure it'll be awesome. Last edited by Squeek; 11-16-2006 at 10:47 AM.. |

Why? Because I'd rather play the game the way it was intended and not for the Wii which they probably slapped together so people will understand how TP fits with the Wii's motion sensing. On Sunday, I'll probably get Trauma Center: Second Opinion and Call of Duty 3.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Yes, I heard bad things about Red Steel. In MAY.
The E3 version of the game was not the final version of the game. They spent their time tweaking the game and making the control scheme work out better. Well, I don't know of anything that seems any better. If they don't have Red Steel (it's not on their website) I'd probably get Excite Truck. They had that in the store, so I know they have that one. I'd prefer just to get two, but if I can get money back for games I'd get anyway, why not? |

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Hey Squeek:
Rayman Trauma Center Monkey Ball Metal Slug What's bad about those? Those were editor picks (along with Red Steel) in Nintendo Power, and I plan on having all four (along with Wii Sports, of course, and Toejam & Earl) by the end of the year. I'm not going to chance Red Steel until it sees some play, because I've heard a lot of good, but a lot of bad, too.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Trauma Center just doesn't sound fun to me. Sorry.
Rayman? I can't see that as being fun. Monkey Ball I already said I wanted. Metal Slug Anthology... I've never played Metal Slug, so I don't see what the draw is to this game. Basically, I'll decide when I'm there. |

Im planning on getting Twilight princess with the Wii, but (and yes this may be well behind the times), is SSBB being released with the Wii? If not when is the release date for Brawl?

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Brawl is set for early 2007.
Anyway, one thing I just thought about, if everyone waits to see what Red Steel will be like, how will we find out? Someone's gotta take the initiative. I'm sure it'll be great. |

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
I'm excited to try this at my friend's house Sunday. As a condition, he's making me write a first impression article for his blog, so I'll probably repost it here. I'm not getting one for myself until Christmas, but damn am I excited.

I never thought Rayman would be fun. Rayman has never drawn me in at all. But, this game is getting so much good review from everywhere that I can't possibly pass it up. I don't know why you can say a game being hyped by so many reviewers as a "must-have" as being not fun. Monkey Ball... well, no reason to discuss that. I never thought much of Metal Slug until I got bored at a pool hall and played Metal Slug 4. Now, I can't get enough of Metal Slug. It's one of those things you don't really care about unless you give it a chance. Oh, and for all of you that don't believe me that Wii games are being sold before the system comes out: Just picked it up yesterday, though it was ready on Wednesday. Twilight Princess is being sold in some places too, and I'm sure some other games are as well.
