Dry Eyes Are Holding Me Back :(
I get really dry eyes a lot, especially when I play FFR and it makes it very difficult to play. I try blinking a lot, and I've even tried putting eye drops in my eyes but they're still extremely dry. Do any of you guys know how to deal with this?

Re: Dry Eyes Are Holding Me Back :(
Do you have contact lens? When I have them on, they dry up when I keep my eyes open forcing me to blink more often, which is why I play with my glasses.
If it's your normal vision, I'd suggest taking a break from FFR and maybe even the computer for a while and doing other things for a small while. Then come back and the necessary tears will have developed! |

Re: Dry Eyes Are Holding Me Back :(
i get dry eyes when i play long songs and dont blink. then i start freaking out and either blink alot and **** up or keep not blink and begin to cry from the dryness
i think it helps to play during your own personal peak hours. I'm a morning person so its easier for me to play in the morning. But once it starts getting late, my eyes get all watery cuz im tired and i suck. maybe that will help? lol |

Learning to tear up on command is really useful in rhythm gaming. That's how I do it.

Re: Dry Eyes Are Holding Me Back :(
I don't have contact lenses, I think it's just that I can't blink like I would regularly or I miss notes so I kind of squint my eyes which just isn't enough. I think I might just need to try to playing while blinking regularly without thinking about it. And I was just wondering chidori!, how do you make yourself yawn?

I always blink on songs with a long ass pause at the end (Vertex BETA) but otherwise, it doesn't bother me.

Actually it's weird, this always used to happen to me when I played FFR, but then I moved to SM and it stopped happened. I think it may be the small screen that does it to you. That's probably just me tho

Drink more water, use a humidifier, turn up the temperature in your house, get used to the feeling of your eyes watering (after forcing them to hold open, you tear up a tiny bit and then you're good to go).

Re: Dry Eyes Are Holding Me Back :(
Funny you ask this... I found a cure for itchy eyes this week... Boil some water, and pour it in a bowl, (cereal bowl, or w/e, but one that's tall enough) and put your face right infront of the water, and stare at it. The steam will go up to your eyes and make them humid again, if they really got dry after playing too much...

Re: Dry Eyes Are Holding Me Back :(
I used to be like this every day, and I have the most sensitive eyes ever. I figured out that the reason was because of my sleeping habits. Try going to bed earlier or later (yes, try later, it helped me) and you'll be wide awake the entire next day.

It happens with me too!
It stopped me from getting many AAAs...

Re: Dry Eyes Are Holding Me Back :(
I squint and keep playing whilst moisture accumulates on my eyeballs.
Then I go take a nap.

I have the same problem. Especially late at night and when I'm tired. Taking my contact lenses help to a point, but not completely.

Re: Dry Eyes Are Holding Me Back :(
i asked this question recently and the best answer i got was from this guy who has made it not blinking for 7 minutes and 23 seconds...he says to blink normally before the game, dont hold your eyes closed or anything like that, just blink normally...then a second before the game starts blink fast 3 or 4 times, and you should be set for the whole song...you just have to try not to think about it too much.
