Need some help regarding skype software
For some reason skype hasn't been working for me the past couple of months.
When I attempt to log in, the loading circle appears, but it fails to sign me in. When I go to my wi-fi connection settings within skype, it says that there is no connection. I've made sure my port settings were matching what skype says should make it work, but I still am unable to log in. Fast forward a bit and i attempted a full uninstall/reinstall. uninstalled all the app data, deleted the regedit occurrences/etc. Basically, it was as if I'd never installed skype on my computer. Reinstalled it, had the same problem. I tried contacting skype multiple times and they were literally just like 'idk' or didn't respond. Anyone have any ideas? ;[ gracias

Re: Need some help regarding skype software
The first thing comes to mind is a firewall setting saying to not allow skype to connect. Usually when I launch a new program on anything newer than windows vista I get a popup asking me if I want to allow this program to access the internet. If you had misclicked that in the distant past I'm not sure how you'd get rid of that other than going to firewall settings and deleting the entry.

Do you use a third party firewall or antivirus?

Re: Need some help regarding skype software
A similar phenomenon happened to me when I updated Skype. Log in to the Skype website and navigate to Settings and preferences > Account Settings. Unlink your Microsoft account and change your password.

Re: Need some help regarding skype software
This thread seems to have a lot of information.
http://community.skype.com/t5/Window...ing/td-p/52260 Most promising one is resetting Internet Explorer settings to default.
