Reintroduction and current troubles

Hiyas, I've probably introduced myself at some earlier point a few years back and did
a few posts, but I haven't been on here for probably the last 2 years. I'm usually
content with reading what interesting things ya'll have to say. =)

Anyways, I'm Kristoffer, 21 year old swede. I send wine with busses for a living. :P
Started with FFR almost 5 years ago, played for a while until I got Stepmania and
started honing my skills.

And now I'm back and I've been trying to get up to the same level I was 2 years ago, but
I've been running into some trouble, especially with jumps and jumpstreams.
In a song like.. Strangeprogram, I can probably get a hit ratio of 80-85% or something on
the streams but when the jump, single, jump, single starts I can't read it or hit properly
even if my life depended on it.

I play spread with A, S, K, L and I'm getting more and more frustrated that I'm so horridly
bad at jumps and jumpstreams while most of the other pattern etc. that I can't do atm
feels like I just need to get faster or so.
So my question to you all, what should I do to improve my jumpskills? If it's possible to
answer that question with anything else then just continue playing the songs that I do
have and endure that I hate jumps. =(

As it turns out, my family is part Swedish, though I can't remember how much (I do remember something about being half Polish, though).

I think your problem is that FFR and SM treat jumps differently. As I've heard from the experts, you can't "gallop" jumps in FFR like you can (and probably should) in SM, since each arrow is read independently.

And I feel your pain about jumpstreams. I choked at the jumps in the end of Burning Noumander just the other day with my little brother watching. I was less than 50 arrows from the full combo, too... X_X

Hm, thing is. It's not in FFR I'm having the problems with the jumps but rather in Stepmania,
not saying I wouldn't have more problems in FFR, cause I surely would.
But you're saying I should gallop the jumps rather then focusing on pressing down the
keys at the same time?

That sounds like it could mean trouble whenever I reach the level when I want to go back
and AAA songs. I could be misintrepretating(Ugh, spelling?) what you're saying though.

Looks like your family tree had problems deciding where to stay. =D
