Your ideas for official FFR events

Hey everyone, I swore that I made one of these some time ago but couldn't seem to find it. Anyway to the point! I want to know what ideas you all have that you'd like to see as official FFR events. We're always searching for new ideas to bring to the table for you guys and I figure you're the ones playing in the events, so why aren't we taking your ideas?

Post here about any new event ideas you have, or even take existing FFR events and make them better if you have ideas for them. Let us know what you want and who knows, maybe you'll see the event in motion sometime soon.

*token / skill token week that has NO anti pa

*FFR musician's duel: All of FFR's artists can come together in a contest involving the creation of songs, ranging from entirely original tunes to specific themes, and the winner can get some sort of prize, as well as a chart for the contest winning entry?

Files can be sent to judges that will vote on the song -- the judges must have some sort musical knowledge (or production knowledge) and need to be able to vote as objectively as possible without having bias toward or against a particular song or song style.

*A special batch that caters to either the classical, rock, or hip-hop genre would be awesome since FFR is lacking in those genres.

*Multiplayer Contest/Event/Tournament/etc.

*Single file arrow day
This is were the receptor spacing on all engines are place at 0

*Double credit MP
Why not just make MP always give 2x credz so it will vastly encourage gameplay and mulitplayer activity
OR, make it so you and your opponent obtain total credz.
ex:
Frank Munoz gets 60 cred.
Hakulyte gets 45 cred.
we both get 105 cred.

*Bring back the 12 days of ffrmas would be awesome. Especially if we can collab and do a TS event with it as well

Being able to avoid PA is a skill in its own right, though.

I agree with you that it is in it's own right a "skill"

but it's not the skill FFR is trying to instill therefore it's irrelevant to actually being a skill token if you asked me

in fact all the anti pa tokens are pretty just downright bad

just my two cents.

I disagree entirely and think, if anything, it makes FFR more well-rounded and serves as a fun diversion from the usual. AAA-fest is old hat. How about get a score which corresponds to the day/month in your goods/averages, the rest perfects, no misses, and no boos?

I'll plan piano mini batch of elegance then.

Another simfile related event idea (other than sim contest), we can do a similar thing with mystery packs as an event, we can give prizes to people who get "first X correct guesses out of Y files" (X = from 1 to Y).

Haha well I think this would fall under "cheating" in essence though because people are getting scores for you. Neat idea though.

You don't need to force people to play in MP, it's more like a way to try to get some activity back there.

I think there was one back in June and it was a pretty big hit from what I recall. +1 to this idea.

Also, more actual inter-team competition. There's something in the tourney forum that has the right idea, but I'd like to see DF and Indeed square off sometime, for example.

OR, make it so you and your opponent obtain total credz.
ex:

we both get 105 cred.

This could widen the range of mp battles since some people don't wanna vs high tier players and lose all the time; they can atleast gain creds for their bravery

That'd be pretty neat jx but then wouldn't the judges / other sim artists have a horrifying lead on common people on the site due to the fact they can recognize styles way easier?

If you want a deviance take up learning a new style. It's much more rewarding and when you decide you want to aaa fest again it actually has a use.

I've learned multiple ways to play and I still dabble in them from time to time.

My issue with it is that it teaches and encourages nasty habits. It's not that it's not difficult or it's own "skill" (I sadly don't agree with calling it a skill in my opinion because I've deemed it a waste.)

Take for example:

One handing gives you stamina in that hand in particular, and allows you to learn more biased patterns. You can directly move this by simply dropping a finger from one hand and putting that burden on the left. It's a really good talent.

Indexing gives you a lot of speed because if you don't react fast you're gonna goof up a shit ton more. Compared to one handing though, most people can get to AAAing 9s or so (old scale and old charts.) The speed of reaction can save you in tight spots such as sight reading a huge 32nd wall you weren't expecting at all and just instantly doing it.

Split much like one handing teaches one handed patterns and give stamina to the "dominate" hand.

Antipa just gives you a good understanding of the timing window, which you can honestly get by doing the multiple styles. You honestly don't gain anything from it other than a bad score, or some respect from select people.

Just kind of how I think of it. It's not a hate fest or anything but I've personally been unable to come up with a reason to bother with it. Messing up just isn't fun to me.

You'd think with the way some "common people" complain about the minutiae of files that they would be master ~style analysts~ themselves...
