Default Extratone Pirates (Drunk Optimus Remix) [88 or 89]

While I think this file could be possibly be a 90, 89 should be the minimum for this file. Some current 89s we have are:
- Magical 8bit Tour
- Almost There
- A Quick Death

The 3 files mentioned have much higher playcounts, although they're more based on certain parts. A Quick Death for example has some gross transition spots, Magical 8bit Tour's clear difficulty section are the 32nd trills that also have one handed parts in it, and Almost There has a big 32nd stream filled with one handed transitions too.

Extratone Pirates has plenty of sections that require a high amount of control and speed to leverage properly. The same is true for the other 89s mentioned, however Extratone Pirates also has this all around the file and has almost no transitioning time in its hardest sections.

In Extratone Pirates, you have:
- Plenty of 32nd bursts to trip up on. You can get averages and boos if you hit a jump instead of a single note for some of them etc., also messing up transitions right after.
- The 16th streams aren't short. The one in the beginning leads into trills, and the trill to the 32nd roll is a very tough transition, and the jumpstream at the end is nonstop and also has these 32nd roll transitions that will easily screw you over if you hit jumps at the wrong time. The jumpstream is rather unpleasant in its patterns (although doable, but it has a lot of anchors) and requires immense control along with speed.
- One handed split jumptrills that are easy to trip up on. These also require a great deal of control and speed at the same time.
- The heavy jacking sections of this chart make it hard to FC without ruining your accuracy if you can't keep up.

Currently the file only has 1,444 plays but right now you can already tell the scoreboard on this file is not going to be pretty. Ranks 1-7 seem reasonable since it's 3 AAAs to 8-0-0-2, but then you immediately get to FC's with 50 or more goods and then you get to a heavily mashed FC already and you're not even past rank 25. There are several scores with good accuracy and misses, but as previously stated, the heavy amount of jacking and control required makes it hard to FC this file without ruining your accuracy; it's very easy to miss on this file from its transitions.

Granted I personally find files like Schmollbluk, grind2, DeVouR, and a few others worse to score on since I have the speed to do the jumpstreams and such in Extratone Pirates, but that is irrelevant considering the above files I mentioned are mostly concentrated on a few unpleasant sections for AAAing.

What's different about this file compared to the other 89s is that it's more of a "you can do it or you can't" type of file, so if you're able to nail the file, you'll do well on it. However, if you can't keep up, as the scoreboard shows the scores are either going to have misses with good accuracy or messy FCs.

Approved and agreed with 89. Jae was never given a rating for Extratone from myself or stavie and gave it the temp rating of 88 since that was the approximate difficulty required for this round. If anything, use this thread to discuss whether or not it should be bumped to 90 from 89.

Yeah, I was torn between this being an 88/89 after play testing. Siding with the lower of the two seemed like the smart choice at the time. I'd be good with it being bumped to an 89 with the reasons given in the OP.

The streams at the end themselves are 16.6667 notes per second, and that's not counting the increase in density for each jump that happens (I imagine this would up the NPS by around 4.xx, since 250 BPM = a little over 4 taps a second). Holding a ~21 NPS stream is not easy under any circumstances, and the patterns within the final jumpstream are quite abrasive (I know of the up-down jump that forces a one beat minitrill). That's where most of the difficulty is concentrated.

In addition to that, there's some 250 BPM 16th jumptrills (32nd rollwalls) that have to be held for as long as four beats. There's also some tough pattern transitions that occasionally force short anchors too. The stamina and speed required to do well on this song consistently is higher than most 89s, so I'm going to say 90 for this one.

90 IMO, density, stamina, and patterns at the end are enough to push it ahead of something like 8 bit tour. 8 bit tour and almost there are perfect examples because they have one BRUTALLY ridiculous part and the rest is doable. This file similarly has the end. HOWEVER I feel this file is much more difficult for the majority of the time before the ending, where the other 89's focus on one part to test all your ability. Also M8B and AT have their hard parts closer to the middle/beginning respectively. This after you are already tired from the fast stream and burst walls you are thrown at this retarded jumpstream that is so dense it's also harder to read than both the above files. If the above are 89 I feel this is 90, one right above them.

Then again I'll be honest I am not necessarily skilled enough to make these discrepancies between 88-90 range, a jumpstream I may find hard to read and extremely draining, where as I can wrist jack/mash the trills in 8bit, may mean that I can't determine it where some of you guys may find the jumpstream not that horrible. Just my two cents.
