Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
Liberate was very straightforward and was almost sleep worthy.
Haruka Kanata was also fairly straightforward but the rolls spiced things up a little. Ass Anchor is the only song out of the bunch that I truly had fun playing. Still not as good as the SM chart. Mermaid Island will go along with Club and AIM as an FMO I will never FC. A nightmare for those who can't jack. Didn't really like the jumptrill bursts on Indo No Sabaya. Though I guess that's why it's an FGO. Overall a fairly fun file. Played about 200 notes of Slashmaid and quit. Never again. |

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
Both of D1's songs are comparable to 9's, I have a better score on inside the fire by far than liberate. I guess it's an 8 for the same reason Max Forever is still an 8. But then there's eclipse, which should by no means be an 8, it took me over 10 tries just to FC it, the sixteenth notes into hands at that bpm should definitively make it an auto-9. Play brooks was here and then eclipse back to back and try and tell me they are on the same level lol.

Eclipse with those 16ths are ehh.. High 8. Nothing in here screams a 9 in there. Sightread SDGd it.

Liberate I had as a 9 orig but it felt more like an 8 after playin it a few times. But I'll wait and see what you all have to say about it.

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
I'm just weak on that one pattern, but then again CP is still a 12 when there are only 2 short bursts than make it a 12, and Going on a spring wind has that one sixteenth note triplet section in the middle that makes it an FMO rather than VD. One hard bit can bump a difficulty. (yes the CP example is extreme, buts its the point)

Liberate I thought was an 8. I got 14 goods on it sightread, so feels right to me.

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
Just realized the last burst of pattern I was talking about in eclipse was jump step hands, rather than step step hands. While I still FC about 1/5 runs, I drop a bunch of averages and boos there every time lol.

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
D1 - Eclipse was short and good. I dont really remember it since I sightread AAAed it. I am not a fan of Liberate since I dont like 3+ minute rock songs >.>
D2 - Yet another great chart made by my friend kjwkjw! Congrats dude! D3 - Wow so much easier than what D3 had last round lol. AAA or die coming up? Anyways I really enjoyed playing this even though I BFed it first try. I was definetly willing to play it again to fix it. D4 - I found it fun except for them one handed trills lol. I lost my combo on them so many times. I really need to get better at them but great file! D4 will definetly have there hands full with this one. D5 - hmmmm I can definetly see a debate on this being FMO/FGO. This song hardly requires any speed but definetly has some akward patterns and such. Surprisingly the jacks arent a problem for me since I cant jack well haha. Thought the chart was ok. D6 - Not a fan of it. Not saying it was horribly stepped but just saying that I didnt enjoy it and I dont look forward to playing it again.

I'll megareview these later this week, still way too sick to be able to do anything on here. I managed to play through Eclipse and all I resulted with was a massive headache...

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
D6 chart is alright. Painful to play through, probably because it's a mid-high FGO

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
Slashmaid is probably a mid-FGO. Nothing within the file is out of range for a D6 player, but as a whole, the file is a killer.
It requires quite a bit of stamina to make it through, and the chart does have some fairly choppy patterns (like [14] 2 [14] 3 [14] or [14] 2 [13]). The trills are fast, and the jumps within the trills make for nasty boo-traps. The end of the file is really split-heavy, too. I'm not a fan of the file; it's a very split-heavy chart and it doesn't flow well for the first quarter of the song. Once you get past the 600 area, the chart feels a bit better on the hands, but it's also considerably tougher (see 1100 to 1500 or so, and the ending triple/jump smashing). Not a bad file, but definitely not one of my favorites. |

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
Slashmaid definitely has the "Dossar feel"
Reminds me of AYAKASHI actually. Which is not necessarily a good thing, seemed kinda overstepped to me but whatever, it's not too bad.

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
Also After finally nailing the AAA on Liberate...
It feels like it belongs as a low 9 rather than high 8. The Minijacks that are kinda un expected unless you know the song and the other little stuff with the awkwardness of the chart. It kinda feels more like a low 9. High 8 just seems to push it a little to much. |

If Liberate goes 9 then Max Forever goes 9.

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
Eclipse seems to feel like a low 9 as well. It feels harder than Red Alert (which is the hardest 8 to me; Max Forever doesn't count because that thing is clearly not an 8.) and Yoshi as well - patterns are less predictable, and that one middle section with the hands is quite the 9.

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 6
Eclipse is a ****ing 9.
Compare it to Yoshi's Cookie and Teh Tricky Techno. There's no way Eclipse is an 8.
