Re: $20 Bounty For A Queueworthy TMwT File
Because Shash won't send me the file, I'm going to spill the beans on what I had:
-Bits synced to Tass talking, of course. And to the breath noises he made into the microphone. All of his talking was stepped accurately, unless I chose for it to fall into the below categories... -the "duh duh duh" at the beginning were quads, naturally -At some points, it just breaks into parts of other recognizable hard files completely irregardless of what is actually going on in the "song". I had the first section of Caprice, The Runnymorning Jack, the dual jack section from Molto, the infamous jack section of hellbeat, the yoshi bonus round, parts of the late Chrono Trigger and FF battle files... They were just thrown in at random times as a shout-out to those who actually could recognize them -for when tass tries to hold a note as long as possible, I had a massive set of "pitch relevant" 32nd jacks @ 90bpm. it was suprisingly fun -You know that one repeating jumpstream pattern from Pants? Yeah, that made a cameo appearance too, for like 12 measures Basically I wanted the whole thing to be a massive inside joke. - Where he says "how's that triple A going" I had a 64th jack that produced a 0-framer auto-miss. Just because I could. Of course with the Avemiss fix it would be possible to hit, but if you "stacked" 6 or 7 0-framers on top of each other it would still make the file un-AAAble because FFR can only register one note per frame (and, lets be honest, nobody's going to be hitting all 7 in the stack) -I also had cameos of bits of the super secret soWE DON'T TALK ABOUT THESE THINGS especially that highly memorable "spin it again" part. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean. -When tass "sings", I had anything from 16th streams, jumpstreams, completely random holiday colored arrows... Pretty much, when tass sings, go nuts -When he tries to beatbox, I stepped the fart sounding noises with crazy crap like 48th bursts. it was hilarious -The (albeit brief) Waka Laka section had the official steps going to it. Just a nice touch -the scream starting at 3:05 had the Crowdpleaser trill going to it, forgot that one earlier -Every time he made a "machine gun" flappy lip sound, I synced it faithfully with a trill. It turned out great when I did it -At 3:35 its important to note he repeats the melody. Of course, being a good simartist, I faithfully copied the steps I had for the same part earlier. Technical details are very important in a serious production like this!!!!!!! >:V -In the parts where I figured it was interesting enough to sync to his singing, I always stayed pitch relevant as possible. It led to a lot of hilarious patterns and made for patterns so annoying to the point of mocking the practice of pitch relevancy. -I was always interested in what would happen if the FFR complier encountered a hold, or a mine. In one section I had both a mine and a hold, just to see if lulz would ensue. I fully expected to have to take them out, but it was interesting. -The fotbb section was where I was when I handed it over to Shash. Thing is a bitch to sync, but I wanted the official fotbb steps in there as faithful as possible! -I was planning on not putting any steps to the Prince of Bel Air section just so you were forced to listen to it and bask in its ultimate lameness. My favorite part, by far. -Wasn't sure what to do with the whisling besides inside joke portions of other files. Maybe more "pitch relevant" jacks? I dunno, that got old... -OH ONE THING I FORGOT, at the 2000th arrow I had edited in the soundclip of Shash saying "2000 combo". Man that part is key, whoever does this has got to make that addition if nothing else -Near the end where he makes a low sound that sounds like a bass drum (I think he was tapping the mic) I was planning to step it with quads. You know, because quads are manly and all that. -I had big plans for the "Big Finale" section. I wanted it to all be totally possible but rediculously hard. 340ish bpm streams and 8th jumpspams, 250ish bpm jumpstreams, short 220bpm jacks. All stuff a top caliber player could survive, but JUST BARELY. So those were my ideas. Feel free to use any or all of them as you see fit, and good luck to the people taking on this task after me. I'd be glad to work with a few of you (testing and whatnot) but please only people serious about making a file that is good and funny at the same time.

Re: $20 Bounty For A Queueworthy TMwT File
Too much of a waste of time for something like 15 people will get the jokes in the file and probably only half of that will get to play it >_>

Re: $20 Bounty For A Queueworthy TMwT File
trying to do this stepfile and make it worthwhile takes too much skill for anyone not good to do it and too much wasted time for anyone good to
basically i predict no one will ever finish this and have it be at all decent hehe

Re: $20 Bounty For A Queueworthy TMwT File
Please send me hi's on AIM -- I still have my own incomplete steps to the file. If I combine certain cool elements (I like most of hi's ideas) I can fix up the sync on my own and get a very cool file going.
Anyways I've got pretty absurd willpower when it comes to this stuff -- if you can guarantee me that it'll be in the game, I'll do a good job on it, haha. I've got some really awesome ideas, hahah A lot of which I know has yet to be done in a file. Also: Since I have/know how to..... yeah, I can pretty much test the real thing as I go, literally. So hi19, please get on AIM sometime when you get a chance Last edited by QuadDamage; 08-7-2008 at 06:01 PM.. |
