May I inquire as to the mechanics of accumulating score? I didn't pay enough attention to the D3 Rivalry thread to understand this.

Additionally, regarding AAAs and Blackflags, what is the difficulty range you will consider to qualify for recognition on the leader boards?

I made up the scoring entirely and had no idea if the old one even had such a score or not. And it says in the original post that songs difficulty 57-80 are what count. Even a blackflag on a 57 would get a pretty good score.

And the scoring is pretty much difficulty - 37 - goods, +1 if the difficulty is at least 65, +2 for 70, +3 for 71,..., +11 for 79, and +13 for a difficulty 80 song, with an average being 1.8 goods and a boo being 0.072~~ goods. Any misses and you probably get a nothing. And round to the nearest good. So really, it pays to get decent scores on lots and lots of songs if you really want to get a lot of points. So get to playing lol.

Alright, I've decided that combo scoring is just so bad that I'm going to change this to not being combo scoring. The leaderboards are going to need some work, but I'll get to it soon; not sure when. It will now just be raw score. TheSaxRunner05 gets 3 bonus points since he probably played those for combo scoring and would have done better in terms of raw score.

And popsicle_3000, I said not much higher than in the 50s if you read carefully enough. You could have 1 high one like Kotarouchan and still be in this, but if you have 10 AAAs over 60 I'd consider you too good.

Hey I have an idea why don't we have something like a set of songs to play in say a week rather than all of us sending in scores for whatever songs we want. That way it runs more like a rivalry or even a tournament instead of D4 scores thread.

Yes, that's a good idea. There were a lot fewer songs available back in the old thread, but now, it's everyone playing different songs instead of us comparing our scores on the same ones. I'll compose a little list and add it to the original post. This way we can have a weekly winner instead of someone just getting so far ahead almost everyone gives up.

I support this. I have no interest in partaking in this rivalry unless there is some standardized way of measuring our dicks.

Okay, better new rules are up. Now you don't have to play like 200 songs to get to the top, and it's much more about quality of scores than quantity, and should be more competitive.

er..my highest AAA is phantom ensemble which is 62, and I have a BF on thrash as well as numerous SDG's on high 70's songs, yet Halogen placed me in D4 for the MP tourney(which I actually didn't sign up for haha). Soooo, am I unable to join this then?

Okay, well my qualifications were just an estimate. As long as you think you're D4 skill level in the tourney, it's fine. There isn't some exact rule about how good your best AAA is.

I really like this new set up, and it makes it a hell of a lot easier to update on you as well. Please keep a cumulative points total as well as a weekly total though.
