Re: ITT: Solo packs
Okay, quick question: What song is Gensokyo Millennium? If it's History of the Moon, then that's all fine and dandy, but if that's the title of a song, where the **** is it? o.O
Also, I'll be uploading a song here in a little while. I don't know if I'm going to do a heavy chart with the standard chart, or if I'll just save it for later, since it's a massive pain in the ass to completely restep a song because I'm following a different melody of the song. >.< Any opinions? |

The version that you are looking for is the one with a purple banner/BG--I had the same problem trying to find it. xD

You should probably change instruments half way through the part (like after 4 measures or something). I'd have to listen to the song to figure out exactly when it would be best to change.

The song is Another Dream, the ending credits to th-09 Phantasmagoria of Flower View. If I did that, tho, I'd have to go back and basically mess around with standard again, since I JUST finished it. >.< |

Re: ITT: Solo packs
You ninja'd my edit. The one I was originally thinking of is "the Brain of the Moon." Which is yet another remix.

Re: ITT: Solo packs
Ahhh, now I see the song in my folder when I downloaded that 200 or so solo files. But stepmania won't even LOAD the song, which was why I could not find it. >.>
edit: It seems that the .sm file for HST's History of the Moon can't even be READ by stepmania, since it's constantly giving me errors in ddream studios. Why is it doing this? edit #2: OMFG I had to change the name of the song to it's original format since it was all scrambled and ****. I've NEVER had so much trouble dealing with one song....>.> Last edited by Narshe_Delvar; 09-15-2009 at 11:35 PM.. |

Re: ITT: Solo packs
Here's a tip, make multiple charts to layer additional sounds.
Standard = Audible sounds Heavy = Additional sounds Challenge = Every possible sound |

rofl Oni=OMGWTFuberlayered. xDD
I do see a lot of step artists do that, but I have also seen a lot follow one particular beat for one difficulty, then do something completely different for another. I figured that would be nice, since the piano and drums are completely separated from each other and would result in a LOT of chaos, really. =x I'll probably do that with my second song, tho. =3 It's gonna take a LONG time to step, tho, since it'll be even longer than my first. Yay for Long and Marathon songs. =D |

Re: ITT: Solo packs
That would make the hardest difficulty. Also, avoid long and marathon songs. It's longer to step, and less convenient to play.
Also, almost any artist from the JAPAN topic is very suitable for Solo. One particular being Shirajira Sawa Kyou. |

Re: ITT: Solo packs
yes definitely, if you're new to making stepcharts start off with things that are short, straightforward and that you're already familiar with, then branch off into hostile territory
