Re: Diablo 3
I'm screwing around with an armor/life regen build
Not very efficient in terms of cost/benefit but idgaf it's a super fun build haha regen all the hits Also stacking attack speed for extra ineffectiveness, but at least I don't feel like the game is on 30% speed anymore p.s. 1 space E 4 Q, really izzy? I can see 1 E space being ergonomic but 4 and Q? lol Try like 1 2 E space tilde or something idk, that sounds really uncomfortable

Re: Diablo 3
Just got this game yesterday (slowpoke) and beat normal with my friends in a single sitting. I'm really having fun with the monk; I hit 30 with him and am loving the skillset.

Re: Diablo 3
So, I really like Monk. Any of you guys who play a lot have any ideas of how I should build him for Inferno? Which skills should I use, what kind of gear should I buy, etc.

Take evasion mantra if you have survivability issues (w/ the increased armor), maybe the healing one w/ increased resist if your resist is pretty high. Overawe if you have enough dps Serenity is p much obligatory, I don't think this is really debatable. It's like using DH without smokescreen or WD without spirit walk. For your generator FoT is generally the most popular I think, with thunderclap. Deadly reach is sometimes used for "kiting" so to speak, the armor buff helps too. I used crippling wave for A1 but only cause I had a helm with a damage buff to it really (it's good aoe and damage reduction though) From there, most people like using: blind/breath for utility, sweeping wind/mystic ally for damage. I personally use blind/breath/dash, dash only cause crippling doesn't teleport. Can't run it in A2 as well Passives: One With Everything is pretty standard mandatory, Seize initiative also really useful. The third one is a little more flexible but I think most like to take, I think a lot of people like transcendence but if you gear Life on Hit prolly take something else (I use the CD reduction one) Gear wise, try to stick with one resist for stacking using OWE. It's not too hard to find cheap gear with nice resist, esp if you look at the less popular resists (ie stray from fire/phys/arcane) the red/green numbers don't take into account your passives, so remember not to swap out to a higher all-res piece if it actually lowers your resistance (unless of course it's a good upgrade in other places) Stack dex, ofc. helps damage and helps armor with seize passive. Vit/%life, I hear you tend not to need more than 40k HP if your resists are high enough. But as long as you aren't sacrificing damage and resist, no need to hold back (o: (preferably get a socketed helm so you can get that nice %life boost) Most monks tend to do 1H with a shield. Look for good %block on the shield, try for dex/crit dmg increase/life on hit for your weapon. Crit chance, crit damage, attack speed wherever you can get it. Helps out your DPS. Just for the record, if you are having little to no problems in Hell Act 4 (I breezed through with some twink gear) then Inferno Act I is not a huge step up in difficulty imo (some elite packs are going to be pretty annoying, but it happens rite). Your can easily gear for A1 with <1 mil, or even better. A2 is still a huge wall and you WILL need to get much more resist to survive.

Re: Diablo 3
Seems like I have a way to go then. I'm still pretty dirt poor, so I probably can't even afford the gear I would need. I like this game so far, but it pretty much seems like the only way to get good is to get rich. Gear means everything in this game.

Re: Diablo 3
That, or super lucky. I prefer the rich thing though. There has rarely been a time that I have created something more useful than what I had in my inventory. Once you level up and go on to nightmare mode, you'll realize how much more gold you get in a specific time period. I'll go to the AH and blow 300,000 gold in one sitting (maybe on one item) and in about 2 hours I have that gold back just by playing. (Again, I'm on hell)

Re: Diablo 3
I found a build that I'd like to try, but I'm so poor and buying the gear will be 'spensive. It's basically running LoH on weapon, a good deal of crit chance, a little bit of crit damage, and stacking a resistance. I can then pair the crit chance with Sweeping Wind/Cyclone. Here's the rest of the skillset I'd use:
http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...XYh!ZUX!acYbca I have no idea how much gold it would take me to finish off this build (not perfectly that is, just to start). I already got my weapon for about 50k with something like 500 dps and 3xx LoH.
