Demyx’s Father’s Day
Part One
Set when Cenaox is nine years old

Demyx jerked awake as nine-year-old Cenaox jumped on him. His eyes flew open. He looked at the red numbers on the digital clock at his bedside. It was a little after four in the morning. He blinked at the digital numbers. His eye twitched as he fully realized how early it was.

“Dude, dad,” Cenaox said, trying to keep balance o his grumbling, shifting dad’s legs, “what’s your favorite color?”

“Demyx growled and buried his face in his pillow. Cenaox simply sat on his father’s blanketed legs, staring at his head.

“Dad,” he said, “color. Favorite. You got one, or..?”

“Blue,” growled Demyx’s muffled voice.

“’K,” Cenaox said, leaping off to the floor. He ran out the room door. Demyx lied there, closing his eyes in hopeless attempt to go back to sleep. He groaned and lifted himself as if he were completing a push up. He yawned down to his pillow, rubbing the side of his face with his hand. He reached back and pulled his sweatpants up a little at the side. He groaned a little, now sitting on the edge of his bed. He rubbed his forehead, yawning.

“You know what day it is tomorrow, right?” mumbled the once sleeping Ryashaa, who hadn’t moved from her sleeping position.

“Today,” Demyx corrected, grumbling as he stared at the clock, “what day is it…”

“It’s Father’s Day, Demyx,” she yawned, sitting up, “he’s probably making you some sort of gift.”

Demyx rubbed one of his eyes. He yawned, setting his hands on his knees and leaning forward. He felt Ryashaa’s arms wrap around his shirtless torso. She rested her chin on his shoulder and hugged him. She smiled.

“Good morning,” she said. He yawned in reply and rested his head against hers, nuzzling against her. He reached up a hand and stroked her hair that fell over his shoulder. He closed his eyes and leaned back, cuddling up with her. She smiled, letting him rest his head on her chest. She leaned down and kissed his lips just as Cenaox was running back in again to ask something else. He let hi tongue hang out of his mouth in disgust.

“Ew,” he said, “get a room,” Demyx looked over at Cenaox, pulling from Ryashaa’s lips.

“We have one, but this annoying kid keeps barging in from time to time…” he said. Cenaox’s expression flattened as he watched his parents kiss again.

“Okay, but do you gotta make out in front of me?” he asked. Demyx looked over at Cenaox, grinning.

“Oh,” he said, with an idiotic smile, “you wanna see us make out?” he looked up at Ryashaa, “we can do better than that, can’t we?”

“Oh yes, definitely,” replied the grinning Ryashaa, leaning down. Cenaox sped out before their lips touched. They laughed, watching their son.
