Default Metropolis

It's, like, really freaking impressive. Amazing what the imagination can create.

Default RE: Metropolis

Which Metropolis are you talking about? The anime one or the 1927 silent film.

I've seen the anime Metropolis, and I can honestly say I was disappointed. If you want imagination, watch one of Miyazaki's films.

As for the silent film Metropolis, I havent seen it. Well, I started to watch it, but the title cards were in German, so I stopped watching it. But considering it is considered one of the top 150 films ever made, I'm guessing it is pretty grand. The settings are beautiful, and stunningly realistic, and the special FX's are suprisingly realistic for the time, from what I have seen.

If you were disappointed, what were you expecting?

I was expecting a cool movie but was also disappointed with a slow, boring one.

I am going to have to agree with Guido. It just kind of left me thinking "What?" by the end of the film. And not the good kind of "what"...the bad kind. I saw it about two years ago. I cant recall any of the scenes clearly, and I barely remember the plot...something about robots and humans...actually, no, I think I am getting confused with the Animatrix.

But just the fact that I cant remember anything from the movie goes to show that it didnt have any impact on me.

If you liked Metropolis, I suggest watching Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

The anime Metropolis was very creative, but it was too long and boring to hold my attention for very long. Ended up watching Samurai Champloo and some more DNAngel...

Actually, it isnt that creative since the idea was ripped from a 1927 silent film known by the same title.

I've been looking forward to watchign Metropolis (1927 of course) and also watching M, which might be even better. I'm sad to hear that it doesn't seem to be so amazing, but hell, if Dark City was based off it, its gotta have watchability
