The direct sum is defined for some vector A,C in V and B,D in W, (A,B) + (C,D) = (A+C,B+D) and r*(A,B) = (rA,rB)

Hell, I know that off the top of my head. Apple has no debt, and hasn't for at least a few years. The stock dropped in 2008 but that's from a lack of sales due to all the other economic implosion going on around it. Apple wasn't really part of it and they didn't even cut any jobs

Had to check a site for numbers though. Almost $43 billion in revenue and $8.24 billion in profit for all of 2009
