Oh yeah, I forgot the recorder, from elementary school.

And bells, but that almost goes without saying for piano players. </elitist snob>

Interestingly enough, I don't know many people who play piano and have a high ego about it.
There are TONS of them that I know...they all act like they're the next Joplin or something, which gets on my nerves. I personally don't think I'm bad at my instruments, but I see tons of room for improvement. Of course, I'm just a high school sophomore who already devotes at least 3 hours a day to practicing. I just think that even with an hour on each instrument a day, keeping up with technique practices instead of normal music most of the time, I am certainly not that good.

I play the vocal chords because they produce good sounds, too.

oy...lemme think...
*President of Barren County HS Band in Kentucky*
*Going to UofKy this fall*
Principal I's: Bassoon and Mallets
Can play: Flutes, Clarinets, Oboes, Saxes, Brass, Piano, Percussion
Not too good on: Snare & similar
Confusing: French Horn ?.??..?
Want to learn: Orchestral Strings
Don't count on it: Vocal

To Reach: The minute waltz is easy compared to many many many songs for piano, but for the earlier pianists, it can seem like quite a task. For the song, the goals are speed of right hand and jump accuracy for left lol. It was the hardest song on my first keyboard *song number 99* and i learned it pretty quickly. The thing i like about it the most is the key. I will take Ab minor over C major on any keyboard instrument anyday lolz.

I'm a music major attending the U.S. Armed Forces School of Music this year.

My main two most proficient instruments are piano and clarinet.

Other instruments that I have been qualified in the 249th Army Band unit include saxophone (soprano, alto, tenor), mallet percussion (xylo, marimba, vibes, glock, etc. in that family), battery percussion (snare, toms, bass drum, triangle, tamb etc.), African and Ethnic percussion (djembe, shiko), violin, middle range valved brass (valved trombone, baritone, euphonium, french horn, mellophone), and bassoon

My secondary instruments awaiting audition certification are guitar (elect., acoust, tenor, and bass), ukulele (I don't think the Army recognizes this as a category), and erhu.

Common instruments that I know how to play but can't play well include tuba, slide trombone, bari sax, oboe, flute/picc, and trumpet.

-----------------

Clarinet: Techno Arrangement of an Irish Folk Tune
Clarinet: Technical Etude in one of my high school's stairwells... acting more dorkish than usual... lol...
Quint-Toms: Sweeps and Fundamental Runs

I have more videos on my facebook. (Allie Hughes: United States Army)
