my local arcade is a haven for SFIV and Tekken (fighting games) and racing games..
but not rhythm games
we only have one ITG machine

it's going to be hard vouching for a rhythm game machine (let alone technika..)

i watched stargroup play it yesterday... i didn't have enough money to play, but i have in the past. It has an extremely hard judging system.

I actually talked to PM Studios about this a bit at AX, as well as Eddie from Bemanistyle. PM Studios gave me some promotional flyer things to assist me, and I also got Spiritsnare's fan-made Technika guide. Apparently it's a very cheap machine, and with the whole Platinum Crew thing it's a very interesting thing to pitch, but even if I bust out my most convincing pleas I don't know how receptive anyone's gonna be when the best people can usually say is "oh is this like DDR?" =(

Seriously, tell them it's completely different technology. btw, I wish I could play the International version... I ran out of songs to play (I beat all the songs in Technical and Popular).

no city is too trashy for dj max technika
dj max reaches out to the most ghetto of all cities and the most advanced of all cities

I really wanted to beat Color, even on just Pop mode, but I couldn't. .-. I have no problem reading the song but I just can't tap my fingers fast enough consistently to get past all those purple notes. :/

Really wanna practice to try to train myself on that but again, being many miles away from Technika sucks...

oh, Hostchan does 1 hand only on most songs. I've learned how to play one-handed but it's such a pain that I just play 2 handed.

This looks extremely fun. Too bad Michigan has close to no music rhythm game popularity, seeing as though the closest ITG is about an hour and a half drive from me, and even a DDR machine is about a half an hour drive.

^Niagara Falls -_-' Theres like a mandatory fail quota that you have to pass before being allowed in city lines (I got grandfather'd in...). This city has literally nothing for entertainment of people under 21 (Unless you count the falls themselves, which is a bunch of water falling. Woot.) and even after that, you've got a casino, and bars...

I don't even think theres an arcade around here, I'd have to look...

But enough woe is me, I wonder if theres a way to emulate such a thing using a tablet PC, would be nice >.>

the unfortunate thing is that you can't just use any old touch screen. most touch screens can only allow the cursor to be in one spot at a single time, just like a mouse

I'm naturally inclined to use my right hand only, but for some things I have to use two. My left hand feels borderline retarded though so I try not to count on it for much.

Hmm.... this makes me recall an advertisement I saw, where a monkey was basically hitting numbers on a touch screen. I wonder if the monkey could own this game.
