it's really not that hard. i mean, pianists with 3 or more years of experience can do this.

the insane amount of time changes and page flips will really be annoying though

I just started piano again after not playing for 1 1/2 years.
My teacher gave me Grand Sonata Pathetique.
Thats kinda hard to just jump into.

Lol, I don't know anything about those levels... best I can do is like-- a bit lower level than TGWP, or far lower..... search Sonata Arctica - San Sebastian, best I can do is the first part of that solo... really gotta practice... ¬¬

Memorize. you've got to be kidding. i can't memorize anything rofl but I can set it up easily so I can page flip easier. xD I always leave myself like 2 seconds to pageflip by setting the pageflip where there's a gap in the music.

Pathetique.... 2nd movement... isn't that bad for settling back in. But if you are talking about first or third... and only 1 and a half years, then your teacher is weird.

I had played for 3 years, and then stopped for 1 1/2 years.
And yes, its 1st movement.

The # of years students take to learn piano isn't relevant. I've only been playing for 3 1/2 and in 2 months I'll be doing AR. People in my class have been playing for 7+ years and they are at most grade 4 piano. It's the students' will to pursue piano. Piano Etude is definitely pleasing to my fingers.
