[4k] Catkin & Teasel (valor & Fission)

i am not one for making speeches, so i am going to make this short and quick. i wanted to step this song since last december, but i could never get the sync right. fission came along and synced it for me so i could step it for odi3. everything was going well, but then i got bored and also had steppers block so i only ended up stepping 3/4ths of it. fission jumped back in at the 11th hour and finished it (along with fixing the sync for a second time) so we could get it into odi3, and after all that hard work, glove eventually rejected it. its been sitting on my hdd until today and since kraezyman made some good lookin gfx for it (and fission bugging me), i revised some small things and made this post today.

in terms of difficulty, the file is extremely easy to pass, but dont think about DDPing unless you have damn good MA. my best is ~110p

also the sync of this song was funky rofl. weird artist is weird

there were excessive 1(24) patterns going on in the middle of the file which got very repetitive. the patterns after the roll felt more weird than necessary but i suppose it fits as the climax for the chart, but it could have been more clean imo

the rest of the file was cool though, most of it was structured well and had a nice usage of holds in some places

(24) and (34) were usually reserved for snare, while 1 was reserved for bass. I didn't want to mix it up too much, and I don't think Valor did either, because I (we?) wanted that concept to be reinforced throughout the file.

I wish this was shorter, especially around 1/4 to half of the file there was a repeating background noise which kept going on and on, it was seriously driving me insane. Chart is done swiftfully and is really fun

The funky background sounds got me entranced...I really enjoyed this file

I agree though the repetition of said patterning is noticeable.

8.25/10 from me...so many good files being made lately

FFR needs to get simfile database back or something cuz I almost never dl single releases anymore

listening to the song made me feel bad in a lot of different ways also pretty cool file
like halfway through i realized the bpm was changing and i said wtf

file doesn't actually drag on that badly i think it just appears that way because of the weird ass song

i thought this was static at first as well. i wanted to make it dynamic because it would end up as a color note clusterfuck (more than it already is) if i didn't. thanks for the comments :')

After: What a bizarre song, yet it's oddly catchy. I looked at it in SM's editor... x_x Wow. That's equal parts ambition and tenacity.
