Have CM wizards really been nerfed? I play a CMWW/Archon Wiz and I want to farm to para 100 but I'm not sure if my Wiz will be as good as he was before.

EDIT: welp, looks like CM passive has been removed? I don't have it selected as a passive according to my user page... RIP cookie cutter builds.

holy fuck looks like everything's changed. no more para 100 cap, the introduction to torment difficulty... I have no idea what to do with this game anymore - I haven't played it in so long and pretty much everything has changed. Granted, I love that more diversity is brought to the game but christ I feel like a noob again... with that being said I'd like to play again. What should I focus on doing for my wiz now that CM is removed?

apparently I have 0 toughness which is terrible... I was hoping that since I spent a huge amount on this set for CM at least something would translate. shit happens, I guess.

Toughness is just an estimate of how much incoming damage it will actually take to kill you given your resistances, dodge chance, etc etc. That 0 is impossible to be your actual number, as your minimum toughness is definitionally equal to your HP. Log in and see what it says.

You're definitely built for pure DPS output though, which is fine if you're in a group with a CC Barb or something, who can keep things off you, but if you plan to solo you're going to need at least a little survivability.

I'll check it out when I re-install it on my PC tonight. I figure I want to have another gear set made for solo'ing because a lot of my friends refuse to come back to Diablo III because they think it'll never be a great game again. I like these changes from what I've read so far - I just need to modify my DPS set so that it's no longer centred on CM. Then I'll have to make my survivability set so I can have a decent start come March 25.

What do you recommend I change to maximize my build's efficiency? I am considering trying out a Frozen Orb wiz, seems to be all the hype in the community right now. What do you recommend I do to make a survivability gear set intended to grind levels and farm items?

Apparently you need 10-20 APoC for it to work effectively, 19 should be good enough.

Hopefully I can get to his stats and quickly start doing T4-T5 runs. I have higher crit chance, crit damage and attack speed - but less intelligence and vitality... I could throw in 400int worth of gems, but then my vitality would be even lower, destroying my survivability.

hit para 70, 1.1m toughness and 250k dps - this is with prismatic armor, blur etc.

Skills: Magic Weapon - Force Weapon
Teleport - Wormhole
Familiar - Arcanot
Magic Armor - Prismatic Armor
Arcane Orb - Frozen Orb
Blizzard - Snowbound? (reduces cost to 13AP)

With my 42% crit and 19 apoc, I can cast blizz and then spam frozen orb over and over again.. took extra AP points/LoH/Vitality for the increase to toughness. Did T3 runs because they were relatively easy but I can solo T4.

Halfway to paragon 100. 1-70 ~= 71-100.. so time to start grinding. Might be able to hit it by Sunday night.

Been getting into this again. Farmed up my wizzy a bit from Paragon 31-46. Holy smokes you can level a lot faster now.

Love the new loot system. Found some DPS upgrades, fully buffed I'm at about 250k right now.

Haven't found a ton of upgrades yet though or a lot of diamond gems so I'm a bit glass cannony at the moment (a little over 600,000 toughness unless in Archon). Though I have almost 900 all resists, so I don't take a ton of damage, but I don't have a lot of health right now.

Should be able to get that up a lot though once RoS comes out, since right now I'm just going to pool my gold (sitting on around 20 mil). I don't feel that wasting it on crafting stuff right now will be worth it. There will almost certainly be way better shit once I hit 70 that I can use to jack up my toughness.

Either way I can farm T3 Act 3 pretty comfortably and extremely quickly assuming I don't hit too many elite packs. I'm still running Archon...looks like they nerfed the fuck out of the CD but increased damage overall. I can actually roll T3 elites in a few seconds without even taking damage for the most part. Sadly now it's 100 seconds for it to come back up. Dunno how low I could get that or if it would be worth it.

With all my various cooldowns and things running, I'm at just under 100k DPS and about 1.8M toughness.

My general operating procedure on trash is 70K/1.5M so I'm pretty survivable, even if my DPS isn't quite up to soloing in the higher Torment tiers.

Build is for multiplayer though, I'm really good at enabling other DPS to be extra nasty.

Cleave - Movement speed reduction Rune
Rend - Healing while mobs are bleeding Rune

Leap - Pulls enemies into a clump
Stomp - Pulls enemies into a clump
Earthquake - Pulls enemies into a clump
Berserker - Does a huge AoE when it starts up

Passives:
25% more armour
25% more damage at full fury
Don't lose fury, generate 2 per 1 second

Do any of you guys have a hardcore character? I only ask because I could use help with getting the hardcore torment achievements (kill bosses < 30 sec etc), and since I don't main a HC character I simply do not have the gear for it.

I keep meaning to get back into the game now that the AH is gone and they've had time to tweak everything.

I could never make it to 60 before I died due to lag/getting stuck in a wall/being bad at the game, my best run was a lvl 56 wiz
