Default Bakemonogatari

This is pretty much an open message to OneHandNow.
Dunno if you remember me, but I certainly remember you.
You told me to definitely watch this show, and after spending a whole five minutes deciding to DL an arbitrary series for something to do in spare time for college, your recommendation shined through.

I've had this series sitting on my harddrive since last year, and I finally finished it (kinda' let it sit at episode 5 the entire first semester, and I just breezed through the remaining 10 in the past couple of days).

Overall, it wasn't OMGWTFAMAZING, but I did enjoy it (I actually kinda' liked the ep. 12 ending more so than the final). The only thing that kind of bothered me about the show was its sorta deus ex machina ending, although it's that kind of story, so I'll let that slide.
The entire show was pretty much character development (which it seemed to do only the bare minimum of to get it's point across), and I honestly would have loved to have had more on the main's (Araragi) background, but maybe they're leaving space open for another season, who knows.

TL;DR You were right. It's pretty much worth the watch.

Oh, and while I wait on THORA to do it's thing with K-ON!!, you got anything else to say on any other current releases? I might go knock Durarara!! off my list.

I know this isn't geared toward me, but how did Bakemonogatari have a deus ex machina ending?

Also, Durarara!! was great, but don't expect it to be as great as Baccano, which people often compare it to (since it has similar staff, animation, character design, etc). As far as current releases go, I really enjoyed Shiki (of the current releases I've seen, anyway).

Well... spoilers comin' up

Main character was all, "Aww heyyl naw, I'm dyin', please save me uber-vampire"
Then all was well. :\

Edit: Oh, and I'm kinda' intrigued by Shiki, but I'll look into it a little more.
Apparently the Haruhi movie did really good, might look into that as well.

I don't know if I'd call that deus ex machina, but I know exactly what ya mean. The Haruhi movie was really great, the only thing I disliked about it was that there wasn't as much comedy as the predecessors, it was mostly a mystery drama. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Seeing as how you've actually seen the Haruhi movie, is the second season necessary for any of it?
'Cause I recall how badly it bombed, and Idk if I wanna' have to go through that for the movie.

Less comedy is fine with me too, my personal favourite genres seem to lie within the mystery/horror area.

Well, I'd recommend seeing the second season before seeing it, though I'm not sure if it's necessary since the series isn't chronological. Second season is good as long as you skip episodes 3-8. Episodes 3-8 is the main reason it gets bashed (AKA the middle 6 episodes of the endless eight).

Welcome to the forums!

Tbh, I'd really enjoy if they did a prequel of some sorts.
