What profile pictures are actually attractive? (OKTrends)

Summary:

- For men, Ab pictures and pictures with animals work very well

- For women, the myspace picture dominates every other kind of picture you could take

- For women, "flirty face" and smiling (with eye contact) is the single most effective shot. No eye contact lowers score.

- For men, smiling is irrelevant (holla @ me Litodude), except that

- For men, the single most effective shot is actually to not smile and look off camera (holla at me two times)

- Outdoor photos increase in popularity as you age

- Cleavage is always popular and decreases the decline in messages women might experience as they age

- The effectiveness of no-shirt pictures decline as you age, but this may be because men have worse abs as they age

- "With animal" and "doing something interesting" are most likely to lead to conversation

Attractive in what sense?

I think a lot of this depends very heavily on what kind of relationship you're looking for.

If you're just aiming for someone to hook up with based on physical characteristics alone, then all of these heuristics might make more sense.

If you're looking for a long-term relationship, though, I'd say you'd be doing yourself a disservice with some of these tips.

This has nothing to do with the thread, but I found something funny about that picture of you, Arch0wl. Your haircut is perfectly fine, but is you scroll up your photo while starting at the bottom, your hair starts super straight, and then just explodes...! Funny thing.
