Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
I've had this game lying around for, oh... a year or so, and never bothered to open it. Last Tuesday, I installed it.
I just finished it, 57 hours of gameplay in 5 days. Yeah, I was addicted, it's an amazing game. I played a lightside counsular and it was a tonnn of fun. I think I did like 95% or more of what the game has to offer a male lightside character. I don't intend on playing again as darkside or a female: I don't want to invest that kind of time again, but I'd be open to playing a nonlightside character in the sequel... BUT Question: is the sequel worth it? A lot of people have been telling me not to ruin the amazing first game by playing the substandard sequel, apparetly it as a rather lame ending. So, FFR, you help me decide: Kotor2 or not?

I don't have an answer for your question, but is KotOR worth buying?
I almost bought it just the other day.

Re: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
I got this game a few years ago. I didn't play it much, but it was tough starting out. I really hated ***SPOILERS*** (not so much) the under-city, or whatever. They were freaks. I also did not like the Jedi planet, it was tough, I stopped playing around 2006 on Kashyyk.

KotOR 2 is horrible.
I would not recommend it to anyone. Go from KotOR to Mass Effect. |

Mass Effect is one of the greatest RPG's ever created.

Re: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
I acctually felt KotoR > Mass Effect
0_o Yeah, I've already played Mass Effect. But KotoR 2 is really that bad? Damn, I wanted to continue the story. EDIT- I figured out why I liked KotoR more than Mass Effect: The balance between close and long range combat was much better. In Mass Effect, you pretty much just stood there and shot things, with the odd grenade or biotic ability thrown in. It was static. KotoR gave you a lot more reason to move around during combat, you know, jump in for close combat, run to heal, long range force powers then run back in again... Also, the final battle of KotoR actually felt epic and was a decent challenge, as opposed to ME, where the final boss was just a total letdown. (I mean, the REAL enemy gets killed in a cutscene. gay.) EDIT 2- Oh, was KotoR 2 not made by BioWare? That would explain it... http://www.bioware.com/games/ It's not on my list, lol. I've heard good things about Jade Empire: apparently less freedom and fewer choices to make than KotoR or Mass Effect, but fun nonetheless? Anyone here played that?

Re: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
KotOR II is not a sequel. It's just another game.
And personally I hated Mass Effect but that's just me. |

Re: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
I am NOT a huge KotOR fan, nope, don't look at my avatar, nothing to see.. ;;>_>
I would possibly rent KotOR 2. I really didn't think it was that bad, in fact, I kinda liked it more than the first. Seriously, if you can find it, pick it up. Don't pay more than $20.
