(nsfw)Mermaid sculpting, part one

I restarted my mermaid project from scratch that I was working on the other day due to my symmetry becoming effed.

Instead of streaming it live and boring you guys to death, I made a timelapse video instead, which actually helps me to recognize errors in my workflow more easily by watching as well. I'll have part 2 probably around Jan 2nd when I'll have more time to devote to this.

I realllllllly advise any of you even slightly interested in 3d to check out ZBrush, it's a really great program and is part of my every day modeling workflow.

Here's what I did the other day that I had to scrap completely.

zbrush is a ton of fun to **** around with, but I was never sure if it was practical for industry applications (this coming from a non-artist)

Cool to see what an experienced 3D artist can do with it !_!

p.s. I'm assuming the lower arms are not finished? They are lacking a little definition compared to the neck and chest, which you have done a really nice looking job with.

Yeah none of it is done at this point, all of it will be refined a ton. I'm actually surprised how well the hands came out using only zsphere geometry, I haven't sculpted the hands at all yet and they look damn near perfect aside from adding stuff like fingernails and skin folds.

just a few quick things you can fix:

Breasts aren't that round unless they're plastic :')
You should look into the neck muscles as well.

ps I did this with mspaint no hating

Agreed on all points, except the hands lol, I haven't sculpted those at all yet. The stomach is pretty much identical to the reference I was going off of, so I'll likely leave that how it is.

I have plans for dat ass, so I gave it some extra mass to work with later on in sculpting.

you guys are all like "arm too long, ass is weird, boobs too round" and I'm just like herp durp looks fine to me rofl
