Dropping out of school..
Should I do it?
I honestly don't see why school is usefull. I'm on the internet so much that I learn more on here than I do at school. I've gotten to a point where I don't even do my work at school, I talk back to my teachers and I'm getting 50-60's on my tests. I've got the potential to have 90+ averages but I'm way to lazy and see it as a waste of time. I have no idea what I want to do in life, possibly go into trades, like welding or something, but other than that, I have no clue. I'd like to here from people who have already dropped out. Btw, I plan on getting a fulltime job somewhere if I do drop out.

Fail EnR. This thread is fail. It's sad that you're even considering such an option. I mean, read and head what KgZ said. Dropping out will be the worst decision you'll probably ever make.

Re: Dropping out of school..
If you drop out and everything you plan on doing fails, you'll be with some gang on the streets stealing your dope rather than earning it.

If I did drop out I'd prob go work for my dad, ornamental work, makes railings and **** like that.
I don't think I can even handle going through this for another 2 years. There are so many rules at school, it's bull****.

EnR, don't. Just get a high school diploma. Then do whatever you want, like KgZ said.

Re: Dropping out of school..
oh im not sure what canada's school system is like. is 11th the highest? or 12th like america.
i would say just stick it out. i slacked off the majority of senior care because i really didnt care and i still managed to pass and graduate fine. you really dont have much more to go. but if you do drop out yeah get a GED or the Canada equivalent. |

Re: Dropping out of school..
I would agree that usually people do learn more stuff from the internet/television then at school, but employers don't care about any of that unless its in writing.
I'm sure your computer does not give you a diploma or your television a GED for watching the Discovery channel or CNN. Last edited by StRiKeR75th; 10-14-2008 at 08:46 PM.. |

Re: Dropping out of school..
Dude, I have a manager who is 38. She just graduated high school last year. She went back to school after she dropped out when she was maybe 16, and she deeply regrets having ever dropped out.
Bottom line is, DON'T DO IT. |

Re: Dropping out of school..
I think the same way. School is pretty dumb, but something so dumb is crucial in life.
Get through highschool, and if you can, go through college/some college. I don't want to see you as a homeless playing FFR on the streets to get some money.

Re: Dropping out of school..
Worst. Idea. Ever
Yes, French and Religion isn't useful, but it's what happens when your parents force into it. Just finish it. Just think of it this way, only 2 more years

And yes, I did think it through before posting, I want to know others opinions about this decision. I've been thinking about dropping out for quite a while now. Yea, I am thinking about the fact that I only have two more years, but... I can't stand it much longer, I'm a very impatient man. Also, no, I do not have my drivers license yet, I'm getting my G1's this week.

Re: Dropping out of school..
Cheat your way through the next two years. That way you can do what you want when you're out of school and not have to worry about actually trying or anything to graduate and get your high school diploma. I mean, even if you go into metal trades and such having a high school diploma helps. What if you get injured doing what it is your doing? it might prevent you from that kind of work, and you would then need almost at least a college degree to get a job anywhere. Get your high school diploma now and it'll be that much easier if you ever need your college diploma in the future.
I haven't dropped out of school so I can't tell you what it's like, but I do doubt that you'll look back without regret in the future. |
