back pain
I now know exactly what it's like to be that person lying on the couch not able to move.
I don't even know what I did to it to make it hurt so much recently, sure I've been doing a lot of physical stuff, but no moment of 'oh shit I hurt my back' or even anything that I'd think would be working my back overly much. I think I messed it up sanding my floor months ago, as its been paining off and on a lot in a way that it never used to since then, but never anything close to this. I just hope it's all muscular and not my kidneys or ovaries or something. Don't know if this is worth a trip to the emergency room or not, not that going anywhere today is viable with the weather. If it doesn't settle down by tomorrow morning I think I'll need to get prescription pain killers. |

Re: back pain
I actually had stress fractures in my L4 and L5 vertebrae five years ago. It was a crummy experience and I would recommend that you don't break your back in the future.

Re: back pain
Sounds like some kind of nerve being pinched or something like it... but who's to say :s
If you're afraid of prescription painkillers (they will begin to define your routine, lifestyle, etc if it's something you start, and the pain isn't fixed at the source), try Kratom for starters; while it is an opioid, it also contains a lot of beneficial alkaloids from it's natural leaf, it stimulates as well as gives a narcotic benefit for pain (If I'm sitting down on it, I can just chillax and feel like buddha. When I get up, I feel like I can run a marathon-- can't do that on regular painkillers). It tastes awful but if you're into earthy flavours you can buy crushed leaf as opposed to powder in order to brew tea from it, which is what most people do to consume their dose (3-6g, when needed, though as low as possible, but sometimes more is needed depending on your metabolism). I use 000 size gelcaps and a scale to dose my kratom, but if you have 000 size caps fill and compress the powder in TWO TO THREE more than the desired gram. So if you want 5g, fill 8 gelcaps compressed hard with the back of a pen. I know this just due to consistency. There are some strains of kratom where this does NOT pertain-- super extracts and whatnot are basically the consistency of corn starch, and should be weighed. There are many strains of kratom, but there are three you should look into: Borneo Red Vein (my personal go-to), Bali (apparently just as narcotic-like as Borneo Red, but I've never tried), and Maeng Da. These three have given me great benefit in times of need. Out of the three, Borneo Red Vein is the most balanced (high painkilling properties at my needed doses (6-8g) and equal stimulation to get me moving), and Maeng Da is the most motivating/energizing. This plant DOES work as well as traditional opioids, dosage is the only factor here. Also I would highly recommend not using it every day, but only on days when it is needed/have something else you can use (hot/cold patches, ibuprofin, that sorta deal) after a day of kratom. If you want to get some, PM me.

Re: back pain
Nurse on the telehealth line:
"Where does it hurt? Scale of 1 to 10, how bad does it hurt? Describe the pain. Are you peeing like regular? Is there blood in your urine? When did the pain start? Are you nauseous? What are your bowel movements like? Does the pain travel down your leg? Is there any numbness? Do you have a fever or chills? What have you done to reduce the pain? Is it working? Is there a chance you could be pregnant? You should see a doctor in the next 2 -3 days. Did you do anything to cause the pain? Did you fall? " Doctor:"When did it start? Anything you've been doing to cause it? It hurts here? Do you do any back strengthening exersices? No? Here, have a sheet of stretches, this one here works well," points to one that's for when you have back pain worst when standing, meanwhile I've been standing the entire time he's been speaking because sitting hurts a lot more. Me: "There's no way I can do any of those right now, hurts way too much. It feels like I'm tensing in response to something else that hurts, like my front hurts but not always when my back is the worst." Doctor: "Oh fine then, have some narcotics." le sigh Well I'm moving around again anyways, so that's good. The worst of it only lasted a day. |

Re: back pain
Best thing you could do for now is to keep moving. Laying down will only make it worse

Re: back pain
I couldn't sleep in my bed or else I would wake up in the worst pain imaginable. I had to sleep on the floor for the most part.

Re: back pain
When I took landscaping in high school I threw my back out while shoveling dirt.
It was pretty cool. I told everyone that I was trying to wrestle The Rock. |
