Cool climaxes/drops in music?
Use raw Youtube links with time referencing if you can, because embeds slow threads down
Guess I'll start off with a few: Doom (2016) Argent Combat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNRCA1hbvQk&t=2m50s Above & Beyond - Anjunabeach (Original Mix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBJo2KvFOCQ&t=4m Sanctuary (Club Mix) - Gareth Emery https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZsXDRxGtHA&t=3m30s RAM - RAMsterdam [Jorn van Deynhoven Remix] although really this entire song is like one big buildup -- climax at ~4:50 or so https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3gKX95qukk&t=3m14s Last edited by Reincarnate; 07-3-2016 at 10:59 AM.. |

Arkitech - Tranzport
Noizenecio - Soul of Noise The Prodigy - The Day is My Enemy (except the whole song is hype as fuck so I didn't pick a time reference) Capsule - Another World (rest of the album is pretty legit too)

These are the coolest climaxes I've heard:
Boredoms - Ҩ 1:47 and 5:15 Boris - Flood 36:42 Spiritualized - Electricity 2:11 The Flashbulb - Kirlian Choices 3:19 Talk Talk - Desire 4:23 Opeth - The Lotus Eater 5:59 (to 7:23) Electric Wizard - Funeralopolis 7:22 |

Re: Cool climaxes/drops in music?
I agree with the Doom music choice, I watched my brother run that game and all the sound design + the music made moments like that quite powerful.
I like the buildup and eventually the "drop" in this song. Also not really a drop but later on it gets really twisted and I love it. Recommended Tune. Music Is Math - Boards of Canada

No one is going to mention Zedd's Clarity or have we still decided to hate that song because it went mainstream?

Ben Johnston - String Quartet no. 5
Toby Twining - Orpheus at the gates anbb - Berghain The Residents - Neediness The Toby Twining piece is kind of surreal because there's nothing but a choir and a cello, no postprocessing.

Ben Johnston and Toby Twining are probably the best proponents of Just Intonation that I've heard. I'm so glad that the Kepler Quartet was able to complete his string quartet cycle while he is still alive.
