Re: Need suggestions for SNES / Dreamcast
My Dreamcast favorites:
Skies of Arcadia Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Street Fighter III Phantasy Star Online Cannon Spike Jet Grind Radio Fatal Fury: Mark of Wolves Gauntlet Legends Jojo's Bizarre Adventure The King of Fighters XXXX Mars Matrix MDK2 OutTrigger Power Stone/Power Stone 2 Project Justice Rayman 2: The Great Escape San Francisco Rush 2049 Silver SoulCalibur Street Fighter Alpha 3 Spawn: In the Demon's Hand Toy Commander The Typing of the Dead (needs keyboard, though) From there, just pick apart random curiosities. I really love playing WWF Royal Rumble with my friends, but, obviously, mileage would vary on such a game. The same goes with staples such as Chu Chu Rocket, Space Channel 5, Stupid Invaders, Zombie Revenge and a bunch of others. Some people love them, but they certainly aren't for everyone. As a completely random curiosity, toward the end of the system's life, there was a full puzzle game called SEGA Swirl included in a ton of demo discs for the system. You could probably get someone to give one away to you for free. It's a very simple game, but it's something mildly entertaining to play for one to four players. Importing is also fruitful in certain areas. There are two full DDR titles available (2nd Mix and Club, which are both sweet uses of Toshiba's DanceMania label and Konami originals respectively) and there are actually four Pop'n Music games available on the DC. If you want to go crazy, Rent-A-Hero No. 1 and Segagaga are really humorous, but to pull in the story, you need to use a guide or know some Japanese. I still like wrestling titles, so picking up Fire Pro D and Giant Gram were really sweet and there are curiosities such as getting Capcom Vs. SNK imported to enjoy the raw game (for instance, the stage outside in the alley had its music replaced in the U.S. version because a rap lyric in the Japanese version drops an F-bomb). As for Super Nintendo games, I think you have enough input here already, but if you want my thoughts, you can track me down.

Re: Need suggestions for SNES / Dreamcast
it's unfortunate that nestlekwik is the only one to mention Skies of Arcadia
every person that plays RPGs needs to play it basically every game that he mentioned, you should track down and grab for DC. especially SoA, Jet Grind Radio, Space Channel 5, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. also look for Super Magnetic Neo because that game was a pretty awesome platformer. Holy shit, I never would have imagined someone else saying that about Illusion of Gaia. It's one of my all time favorites as well and that game was ****ing hard as shit to play to start out with. But, indefinitely one of the all time greats. |

Vigilante V8: 2nd Offense and Sonic Adventure are boss on that DS. I'd suggest grabbing both of those as well.

Re: Need suggestions for SNES / Dreamcast
Hmm? Someone have bumped this thread from like some pages before, but on topic...
I didn't play much SNES or DC games much but I think you should check out Pop'n, PSO, and one of those tokyo racer games on DC (What was it called again? I forgot, it was really fun though.) I only so much tried SNES hack for me, but there is Earthbound. And That's for the GC. DC has Ver.1 and Ver.2 only (Both EP1) |

Re: Need suggestions for SNES / Dreamcast
Can't believe nobody mentioned Shenmue for dreamcast.... Game is mandatory for anyone that owns a dreamcast. I'm serious. Your dreamcast collection is never complete without it.
