Problem with AAA equivalency formula(?)
http://prntscr.com/be5fux --picture
So my score on Future Invasion is clearly much better (and closer to AAA, proportionally) than my Fanteucpx[zv score, is rated higher in difficulty, and somehow has less AAA equivalency. I haven't actually tried to put the scores into the formula on the Skill Rating thread so Close the thread or whatever if somehow I'm wrong but I fail to see how this makes sense at all. Re: Problem with AAA equivalency formula(?)
Scores in FFR are not proportional. A 9-1-2-2 is a 9-1-2-2 and a 16-0-2-1 is a 16-0-2-1, regardless of the number of notes in the song.

Re: Problem with AAA equivalency formula(?)
It isn't badly done because that's how the FFR difficulty system is supposed to work in principle. Getting, say, 4-0-0-0 on a difficulty 80 song should be the same difficulty regardless of the number of notes in said difficulty 80 song. (However, in practice, I do find it somewhat easier to get better scores on shorter songs, though maybe that's just cause my stamina is crap)

Re: Problem with AAA equivalency formula(?)
it doesnt matter how good or bad ffr's system is you don't get the criticize their work
seeing as you took my algorithm and the months of full time work that went into it and shamelessly turned it into a mockery of useless garbage without understanding how it works what it does or why you have no idea what you're talking about or doing and that isn't going to stop you from thinking you do but don't drag other peoples' work into it thanks Last edited by MinaciousGrace; 06-9-2016 at 01:08 AM.. |

Re: Problem with AAA equivalency formula(?)
Quote:
Future Invasion (4m 25s, 2993 arrows) is considered to be as difficult to AAA as grind2 (1m 12s, 878 arrows), and any other difficulty-87 song. A score of [X-16-0-2-1] will give the same AAA-equivalency on any difficulty-87 song, regardless of how many arrows are in the song. Because getting [X-16-0-2-1] on Future Invasion is considered to be as difficult as getting [X-16-0-2-1] on /mu/tant corecore. "[X-16-0-2-1] on a difficulty-87 is as if you had AAA'd a difficulty-78.16" So although Fanteucpx[zv is only a difficulty-86, you recorded a much more impressive score of [X-9-1-2-2]. "[X-9-1-2-2] on a difficulty-86 is as if you had AAA'd a difficulty-79.05" I hope that makes sense. If you still have any concerns about skill rating, please let us know! I mean, not saying it is great, not saying you are wrong either, but if there's something developers are missing, and you have reasonable evidence to support your claim, it would be beneficial.

Re: Problem with AAA equivalency formula(?)
Actually, I can see why it was done this way, now that more people have explained it to me. Seeing as difficulty to AAA was taken into factor with the actual numerical song ratings, it does make a bit more sense that static good/avg/miss/boo counts work the way they do. Just a bit confusing before I figured it all out.

Re: Problem with AAA equivalency formula(?)
Future Invasion score < Fanteu; Fanteu is significantly closer to AAA than Future Invasion is just so you know
I forget the point value assigned to Averages but each miss is 2 goods and 2 boos, so tack those onto the good/boo values you have on those charts and see

Re: Problem with AAA equivalency formula(?)
Should we factor both the "AAA equivalent" and "Ability to AAA" while judging the difficulty of songs?

Perfects/amazings are worth 50 (-0, or no goods) Goods are worth 25 (-25, or one good) Averages are worth 5 (-45, or 1.8 goods) Misses are worth -10 (-60, or 2.4 goods) Boos are worth -5 (-5, or 0.2 goods). Numbers in parentheses are the amount you are from a perfect score should a non-perfect judgment should occur - keep in mind that boos are not judgments that are obtainable through the judgment window, and thus their raw value is worth the same as the amount they take away from a perfect score. |
