Re: World of Warcraft
Of course what they mean by "Sets up expansions to come" is "Tries to get you to let us get away with time travel as a way to not have to think up new content"
If it works, we're doomed. |

Re: World of Warcraft
Still don't even want to go past wotlk. If I move on I'm going to a whole new game.

By virtually every standard of the term, you quit WoW years ago.

Re: World of Warcraft
I don't think I can honestly claim I've quit WoW when I play a little bit every day for the past 2 years. It's still WoW even if I'm living in the past.

Re: World of Warcraft
Well, Blizzard would disagree since you aren't paying them subscription or accessing their servers. I think most technically you're playing a game that looks like WoW from a bunch of years ago.
Why they have yet to offer real servers at previous patch levels is beyond me. People would do it. |

Re: World of Warcraft
Yes, 10's of thousands if not 100's of thousands would do it.
Also it really doesn't matter what blizzard thinks. I play WoW, just not retail WoW. If there was a blizzard supported wotlk retail server I'd go there instantly even if I had to pay again. I'd even delete my character with 100+ days played if it was guaranteed to come true. |

Re: World of Warcraft
On the Ulduar patch I'd consider, ToC was bleh and Ice Crown Purgatory was long enough.

Re: World of Warcraft
I always think about those certain custom servers like BC 2.4 but IMHO I could never go back to older versions of wow
its done and i have done it all in the past... experiences wont be the same. no point imo ToC was one of the blandest raids ever |

Re: World of Warcraft
It had the sole benefit of being fast since there was no trash, just a sequence of boss fights. But yeah, not my favourite raid tier by a long shot.

Re: World of Warcraft
Icecrown was a super legit raid, it's just that they dragged it out for like a whole fucking year and even then coolest instance (lol pun not intended) gets old after that long

Re: World of Warcraft
Ok, I'm not really surprised. I hate pve with a passion. It is the most stagnant and boring thing possible for me.
And I am not fond of cata and up expansions because they continue to dumb down the pvp with every update. Pvp was pretty bad in classic WoW and burning crusade is where it really started to take off. Wotlk was just about perfect other than death knights ruining it for awhile, but by the end of wotlk is was as good as it ever was even if it still had some damage scaling issues due to high gear. If there was a wotlk patch with the fixes in 3.3.5, but with less gear it would be as perfect as possible. Last edited by Izzy; 11-12-2013 at 11:51 AM.. |

Re: World of Warcraft
So my brother used a scroll of resurrection on me after he bought classic-cataclysm package and I've been looking over my 4 year old rogue. I don't even know what to do in this game anymore. Nothing is the same.
Only positive change so far as that pets stay summoned forever until dismissed. For some reason my pet catalog has 2 black whelplings. My 39 twink shaman has some incredibly rare axe (at the time) that was worth about 20,000g during tbc which was a fuckton. I remember 1 shotting people in bg every time windfury procced. The axe also has its own proc that does 400 or so damage, and that hit can proc windfury. Sometimes I would instantly deal 3000 damage in the 30-39 bracket where people had 1500 hp. |

Re: World of Warcraft
Kind of weird. I had one whelp that I had used originally and the other one should have just been in my bags. I was going to sell it, but I guess the game decided it wanted to just do what it wanted with my bagged items. Although the fact that they didn't delete my character and had mostly intact after 4 years of inactivity is amazing.

Re: World of Warcraft
"Items Stats
Hit, Expertise, Dodge, and Parry - GONE! Yeah, that's right. These stats are going to be removed from items because they don't feel like a bonus. For example hit, is just something you try to cap as soon as possible then avoid all the items with hit afterwards so you can take better stats. Reforge - GONE! Way too much customization was needed when you got a new item. It took time, lots of addons and tools to get the perfect reforges for your character and with every new item everything was a mess and you had to redo those reforges again. That's why, with patch 6.0 the reforges NPCs are leaving. The interesting question was: "What are we going to have on the yak mount with the reforge NPC gone?" We have no answer yet, but let's hope is something useful or funny." --I'm kind of glad about the number thing though, I really don't want to be constantly hitting over millions of points in WoD. http://www.wowjuju.com/_/wowarticles...s-changes-r430
