Re: online dating
well it depends...
if it's one of those 'dating sites' like eHarmony and something...well at least that has credibility. but if it's just random ppl deciding too hook up on some random site like myspace... :/ i'm not saying it's not possible, cuz i kno it is... but in many cases there are fakes on the internet, and i've knows ppl to fall for them

Re: online dating
Depends, in my opinion, if you actually make the time to go see the one that you are actually e-dating IRL and he/she isn't fake, I am all for it. But it's the internet, people are known to lie and such.

Re: online dating
I guess you can date online... but there's no way you can fall in love or anything, not unless you meet in person.

Re: online dating
It seems like meeting people in life is better than online. If they are online, they could live far away and you may never meet them. People who date online are usually disappointed by something when they first meet anyway. Still, it really depends on what people are into.

Re: online dating
Imo online dating is fine if you choose to take that path. I am against it however..... for the moment. You could compare online dating to having a relationship with an inmate over the phone. And that could lead on to marriage.. Fyi i have seen this happen..

I actually met my exgirlfriend on myspace. We got along so well it was creepy. (She only lived 40 minutes away so it wasnt that far).
But whatever, were still bestfriends. Just we werent meant to be anything more. |

Re: online dating
Meh I would say learn how to distinguish real from fake. If you would say that if you're a 15 year-old boy who sees a girl on myspace claiming to be an 18 year old Model who only wants to be with you...chances are it's not only fake, but some creepy pedophile trying to get in your pants. Make sure whatever you decide is safe before taking it any further than:
"Wow you're really hot." "Hey thanks I love you." "I love you too." |

Re: online dating
There are no girls on the internets. Nor are there boyfriends.

The people you are hooking up with over the internet are hairy-back fat guys or undercover police officers.

Re: online dating
I agree with this kid. I've been there. Most online dating happens to people ' addicted ' to the internet hence people tend to forget theres a REAL world out there and fall into the trap of talking to girls/guys online because it's 90% less confrontational than goin out to the club/bar to meet someone. Also, with dating online you always have the people that are lying their asses off about everything under the sun. Just think. You put almost 6 months of time talking to " Julia from Nantucket " and come time for you two to meet and you quickly learn it's really " Nate from Piscataway " because that person " cares about you so much I had to tell you the truth. " LOL. You REALLY wanna be cought in that trap? Go out. Meet someone. Trust me. Save yourself the day you throw your head in your hands and go " Wtf. . . . . I was dating someone. . . . . . Over the internet. . . . " Say it out loud. Really. It sounds funny.

Re: online dating
I met my girlfriend actually through FFR, haha. Turned out, we both went to the same school district, so she lives fairly close.
So, I'm not entirely against online dating...but if it's someone like... Way da fuk out there, then what's the point? The entire convo will consist of, Ohhh next summer I'm sooo gonna visit u in (Insert City/State!)!!!

Re: online dating
People who 'online date' need to get out more. That's really all there is to it. Go meet someone. In person. And if you do online date, and that person lives like... days away, then you're super pathetic because you know you'll never meet and it's just to tell people "Yeah, I have a gf. She lives in Cuba though. See, I'm not pathetic." Maybe it's okay if this person lives in the same town as you, and you meet and it's not a scary 50 year old pedophile who rapes you. And if it is, that sucks. But you've learned your lesson. I wouldn't wanna take that risk though. It'd just be so much easier if you just.. go outside.

Re: online dating
My advice? I am a man that has a lot of experience in hooking up with girls from the internet. You win some, you lose some. Run far away, and don't look back. It's a void that will capture your soul and destroy you from within.
