Request for a strategy guide
Every time I try to read one of these games trying to determine what the hell the underlying reasoning is behind the actions of the players, I fall short. It doesn't help that I tried to play this game once and ended up being one of the wolves that happened to have no way of IMing the other wolves.
So instead of trying to read people and faking IM conversations and whatnot, I've instead decided to ask seasoned players to make a strategy guide to the game instead before I try this game ever again...because it seems like the amount of fun this game is is in direct proportion to the amount of skill you possess, and that's no fun for newbies. |

Don't we already have Stoic's thread? I'll help if I can... I'm sure BDN would be a great help too...

Re: Request for a strategy guide
Shut up, Vash. There's a big difference between knowing how to play and knowing how to win. Just because you might be good doesn't mean you get to shoot me (I would say flame, but your avvy...) for trying to help me and others get better.

Re: Request for a strategy guide
Every player plays so differently, it would be hard to designate one "strategy" to play with and win.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=58585 Reading that, and browsing through a couple games should be enough to get you on the right track to developing your own strategy for success. Edit: Link works now. XD Last edited by travman301; 04-24-2008 at 04:07 PM.. |

Re: Request for a strategy guide
Trav's right, besides, don't let one sore game turn you away completely. Get comfortable and figure out what you did wrong and improve. I'm still doing that.
P.S. What the flip is that link? I went to it and just got the FFR notes... |

XD, I'm not shooting you because I'm "good" nor am I shooting at you at all for that matter. You making this thread just made me think back to that time and made me laugh.

Re: Request for a strategy guide
True, strategies for this game are as varied as the people who play, but I just get the feeling that, as with some other games, there are strategies that are overall more effective than others in most situations because certain scenarios keep popping up. I guess it just comes down to how much you're in touch with the other players.
Still, I'll try reading that thread. |

Re: Request for a strategy guide
Without an IM'ing source it would be very difficult to get good at this game.
I suggest you download a client, or even use the AIM thats offered online. |

Re: Request for a strategy guide
One thing is for sure, do not drastically change your playing style just because you are a certain role. People will catch on that you are probably not something that you were previously. Or, if you do drastically change it, then continue to change it each and every game. That way, there is no reason to be suspicious of you simply because of your style.
