Default Anyone still play Starcraft: Brood War?

I'm a huge fan of the game as well as the pro scene and just want to know who out there still plays? I've been playing a decent amount lately on Garena and was curious if anyone wanted to ever play. If you do want to play or organize a game feel free to do so in either this thread or through PM. Look forward to hearing from everyone.

Most likely everyone, and if not, they should.

It's been a while since I've played. It's something I'd like to start playing again, but I just don't have the time anymore.

Why play CS 1.6 instead of CS:S? LoL instead of HoN/DotA?

It's not like they're the same game or anything, though there are many similarities that can be drawn. There's no reason why you can't play BW, especially amongst friends. If you happen to enjoy SC2 more than BW, that's fine. But don't act like SC2 is just a complete superior replacement of BW.

Don't get me wrong though: I enjoy SC2 plenty and I haven't played BW for a while. But SC/BW will remain one of my favorite games of all time, and I have no qualms with going back to play it if I have friends/other people to play it with, or even just to experience the campaign again.

Well here's the thing Izzy, SC2 has it's differences from SC:BW but when it comes right down to it (talking pro mechanics here) they are both completely different games. There is a heavier need for macro in SCBW because you cannot rally workers to mineral fields / gas. I've also been told that performing a ramp block with workers is near impossible to do as well. That is not even half of it. Also, more or less what wineandbread said as well.

Also if anyone does want to play me sometime feel free to leave me a PM and I'll organize something (might need to get a new mouse though because my right click is acting up a bit).

I understand they are vastly different games but sc2 is an improvement over all of sc/bw mechanics. Broodwar isn't the way it is by design alone, it is that way due to limitations of computational power. They didn't limit unit selection to 12 units because it made the game more difficult, they did it because computers couldn't handle moving around 100 units at once. I loved playing broodwar back in the day and I still love playing old ps1 games and everything but the game is just outdated and not because of graphics.
