Tass' Pimpin' Neon finally bites the dust.

my 1995 Neon, of which I am so fond of and have talked about many times here at FFR... is near death.

It is my first and only car, I have had it for a little over 4 years now.

Yesterday morning, as I was driving to work, a 18 foot truck backed out of a driveway into the street... right in front of my car. The backend of the truck took out a damn big chunk of the right side of my car.

The car is still driveable, although is far from asthetically pleasing... and has no right side-view mirror... and there is a chunk missing from the right side of my windshield...

So, for the next day or two I'll continue to drive my now totaled Pimpmobile, but will be forced to get a new vehicle within the next week.

I'm perfectly fine... it was more of a retardly big scrape than a crash, so I'm fine. My air bag didn't even go off. The car is only worth about 2500 bucks, so it wasn't difficult to total it. The majority of the right side of the car needs to be replaced... 4-5k worth of repairs.

The goal: get 4000 for the car, when its only worth 2500... so I can buy a 4000 car instead of a 2500 car.

PS - the stereo equiptment in the car is worth 2000+... gonna have to get that removed and put into the new car.

I gotta go get ready for work and take pictures of the car for insurance. I'll post pics of the damage later.

Hey I got a thought. Keep your almost-thrashed up car and pray for those people on Pimp My Ride to ring your doorbell and you can get a more pimpier car!!! Unless, you want a new car Tass.

EDIT: Can you sue the truck driver for damages?

He's hoping the truck driver's company insurance will pay lots of money for his car, since the guy was clocked in when he did it...unfortunately, the insurance company will probably use the same book the Pep Boys guy did to calculate the worth of the car and end up with very little money being paid back to him.

That sucks dude, I have a neon as well, but it's a plymouth 98 maybe. Hope you can get the money your asking and get even more of a pimptastic car.

I love Neons. They have really smooth controls and handling. My only issue is that they have terrible accelleration, which sucks when you try to pass the car ahead of you. I had to practically floor it, and I saw almost no change in speed on the spedometer.

But other than that, I love them.

my dad got in a crash he hit a tree. and he broke his arm. his jeep was totaled but it was a company car and now he has a trailblazer. dont you wish your neon was a company car?
