As for the trophy, I saw the video previously, and I still have no idea what trophy that could be. The resolution was too low to make a guess.

As for helping/hurting a character's chances, well, it might go either way. If I'm not mistaken, we had PC trophies that weren't gained through the campaign in Melee (Kirby Hats, and I think there was a Fire Mario, etc.). Considering the recognition of the character in the game, it just might actually help.

But I don't really care either way for any of the characters that trophy could possibly be, so I'm not going to go all up-in-arms if/when we get more information.

By the way, only 3 days until the Japanese release! (If I've got the time conversion correct, it's about three days even, but I'm not sure)

No, he heard landing.

http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...postcount=1532

Crazy kids come up with crazy names for the glitches they exploit.

Also hey I don't have any interest in keeping this up but again, stop assuming things about me, ok? I did wavedash, short-hop, etc. Just not against other people. I did it against Mr. Sandbag. If you know anyone who can get any decent distance without a short hop fast fall l-cancel on Sandbag, please let me know.

The only Sandbag tricks I ever brought to competition were fast-falling (which everyone knows) and L-canceling (which I rarely ever used).

Edit: Japan time is GMT + 9. GMT is currently approaching 7:00PM, thus, Japan is on Tuesday morning at 4:00AM as of the writing of this post. Assuming a midnight launch, they have about two days left. Under 48 hours until Japan has the game.

What do you classify as a decent distance? As I have gotten 1358 ft with Yoshi.

Also, todays update mentioned interesting things such as swimming, downloadable stages, and other exiting things hidden throughout.

Yoshi is the only exception.

My distance with Yoshi is well over 2,000.

I've gotten over 2150 with Yoshi. The trick is to use the down air attack while over the Sandbag, and if you do it right, you'll do over 30% damage. Repeat several times, then swing the bat. If you did it right, Sandbag will have over 150% damage, and will be sent flying over 2000 feet.

For some reason, I'm under the impression that the launch won't be at midnight in Japan, but later in the day. I forget where I heard this though, or it could've just been the EST equivalent of the time Japan gets it, so who knows?

I could call up my friend and ask. He's spending half a year in Japan.

Only problem is everyone he went with has American consoles. They're pretty much only using DSes because those are region-free. So, I can't ask him for any impressions or secrets about the game since nobody will be playing it unless they feel like shelling out money for ANOTHER Wii console. =(

Hmm... If the Japanese version is coming out soon, then why do we have to wait until March 9th?!?

There are already people over at Smashboards who have said they're going to be getting the Japanese version on a Japanese Wii, so there won't be any shortage of secrets. And Brawl Central (www.brawlcentral.com) will keep up to date with everything, too.

The game comes out on January 30th our time. We'll know pretty much everything important by February 1st.

Maybe they can go to the local japanese game store and try it out (assuming that there are games to play there like we do at EB Games).

Nope, remember how much of a bitch it was to get game and watch, Mewtew, and every stage?
People won't unlock all the characters until at least 3 weeks from now. Maps should take at least 1 week.

Down A, Down B, I don't remember. The one with the feet attacking multiple times.

He probably will go down to a local game shop to try it out, but none of them will actually own the game.

We have to wait until March 9th because of something known as "localization". Translations, voices, edits, etc. Look it up sometime. You might learn something.
