Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
I never worked in a restaurant before but I can imagine how annoying that would get; however, I can understand if you're at a party and someone ask you, "Would you like a soda?"

Wow, I bet that gets really annoying really fast. They might as well ask for "food" when they make their order.

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
lol, dont think that can limit is on the label anymore ever since they got approved to be listed as an Energy Drink and not Energy Supplement. Pretty sure now it just says consume responsibly and who the drink isnt recommended for, so if you have a stoke from them that's on you. Its not rocket science to know these things could eventually harm you and cause a problem if you consume multiple cans everyday. heh

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
In order of preference (though all are highly preferred):
- Americanos (and also long blacks); - other espresso-based drinks; - any quality black coffee (read: not Tim Hortons), with a penchant for hazelnut-flavoured coffee (though not because of hazelnut creamers, since coffee creamers in general are disgusting); - caffeinated teas (green/white over black though, even though black traditionally has more caffeine). I've consumed one energy drink in my entire lifetime; it was expensive, disgusting, and seemed ineffective. |

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
I used to be really bad with Monster in high school. I would have a BFC almost every other day. I got sick of the taste after a while though so I don't drink energy drinks anymore like I used to. I mainly drink soda now while at work and I'll drink tea if I'm at a Chinese or Japanese restaurant. Now I'll have a Monster Rehab once in a great while cause I like the lemonade and tea flavor in it.

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
Coffee generally, but if I don't have time to make coffee in the morning, I usually resort to cheap energy drinks. They're fairly disgusting but extremely effective.

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
Oh you guys and needing that energy drink shit to function properly. What happened to humanity? I can function perfectly fine without any caffeine. I drink coffee and tea only for the taste. And definitely never in the morning.

I used to be like that and the second I stopped drinking them I felt really bad. Now since it's been awhile, my body can perform just fine now.

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
Funny thing is, I could too probably. Its just that I have a legitimate addiction to caffeine now, withdrawal symptoms and all. If I ever find a way to stop I would probably be able to get by just fine without caffeine.

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
I had that problem too. I drank about 5 cans a day for 10 years and I finally broke my addiction in the past few months. I did it by taking pills with caffeine in them instead of drinking soda. Which mostly helped me not feel the need to drink soda for caffeine then you just take a pill less often.

My source of caffeine is water. I don't drink carbonated beverages.

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
Caffeine has become a daily necessity for me. I used to drink coffee every morning but now I usually have a can of pop or two each day at the least. Aside from having a caffeine addiction, I also suffer from chronic classic migraines and having a daily dose of caffeine keeps them away a little more so it's kind of a good addiction in a way for me. I still get migraines from time to time and when I do if I drink some tea or pop it tends to dull the migraine. They've put me on countless medication for those awful migraines but those meds always made them worse for me, so I usually just have to wait them out. Unfortunately sleep is like the perfect cure for migraines but good luck falling asleep with that severe, constant pain. Anyway excuse me for rambling on a bit there lol. But yeah anyway I love me some caffeine that's for sure.

I know I'm not having any sort of trouble because whenever I don't spend some time at my parents' house and just live around my dorm room for a month or longer, I don't even have any desire for caffeine at all... I've gone without any coffee for over two months once, randomly, and for two weeks quite regularly. (I normally visit my mum every other week.)

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
That's what happens with a physical addiction. When you stop your body has problems. I used to get severe headaches if I didn't drink anything with caffeine.

I remember the first week I quit drinking them, I was feeling pretty bad because my body was craving it; later on after a month or so, my body felt just fine without it. I still drink energy drinks from time to time, but not nearly as much as I used to.

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
I think your body just starts to depend on those things to stimulate your adenosine or whatever it is, so you just feel more down/depressed (physically) while your brain waits for caffeine to regulate shit.

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
I drink either a cup of coffee or a cup of tea every day, and a soda once a week.
I think I might be immune to caffeine addiction. I only drink these things because I like them, and I can go without them (and have) if need be. |

Re: What's Your Favorite Source Of Caffeine
Same here, well not immune but don't recall feeling a withdrawal at all, even after having had an energy drink near every day last year before classes
