But don’t fret! It’s easier than it looks. Spend some time playing around with him. That’s key." When people first saw Ness's Up+B move in Smash64, many didn't want to even consider playing with him because of how annoying it would be to recover by shooting yourself back up. Yet he's one of the best characters in the game. Imagine that. All it took was a few practices with the guy to get the timing and angles right, then you're good to go. |

You forgot to bold the first part, "I bet you're a little confused by his eccentric play style." Sakurai himself admits that Olimar is strange for Smash. That doesn't make him a hard character to play, just strange.
Strange means "strange." Not difficult. Not bad. Just "strange." |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Lets discuss how Olimar, a character we've never played in a game we've never played before, will compare to other characters, which we've only seen being played in a couple of videos and more than likely have never played in SSBB.
Because everything we say will have evidence or derived from logic otherwise. Besides, any statement with real logic is critically flawed by it, meaning a statement which has not attachment to logic can never be wrong! ~Tsugomaru

Personally, I think Olimar is just like Nana and Popo. Olimar = Popo. Fragments of Nana = Pikmin. Except in this case, you can't play with either of them alone. Just Olimar. Except playing with them alone is silly and you will quickly lose. The difference is that "Nana" doesn't go away and never come back until you die. "Nana" comes and goes very quickly. It just becomes an ammo conservation game. I have the feeling I'm going to enjoy playing with Olimar myself. That is, of course, if the throwing actually has distance to it. Edit: Maybe another, easier way to understand is like playing in Team Fortress 2. Some classes are very straightforward. Heavy shoots things. Scout runs ahead. Pyro sets things on fire. Very simple. Some classes are not. Engineer has to build things. Engineer has many different things he can build. The battle relies heavily on whether Engineer builds the right things quickly. Then there's Spy. Spy has to choose a costume to infiltrate the opposing base with. Spy has to guess what class he can imitate without the other team realizing it's a fake. Spy can't run into the only Heavy on Red when Red knows they only have one Heavy. However, Spy is also one of the deadliest classes in the game if you're good with him. Like I said though, I find a way to win, its just repetitive. Thats all. Edit: and if you are talking normally about a counter-offensive, I can and do it. But again, my statement above. Its boring to see someone do the same things over and over again, he wonder why I don't fight him as Marth all the time. And thats because I know how to beat him with that character, I want to learn it with others as well because it just gets boring. Edit: Read that link. Not bad, I agree for the most part on what that guy said. But Really? A "Tier Council"? I knew this game was important, but lets be serious now.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
That was not taken out of context.
I've only done it once to you because I legitimately did not understand what you were trying to say. It was an issue with the way you worded your sentence. I don't know why you have this grudge against me, but you don't have to throw slander around at every opportunity you get. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Yay, I am going to have a hell of a good time with collecting stickers.
When you guys get the game, what are you going to do first? Fight matches to get stickers, trophies, characters, etc. to make adventure easier, or are you going to tackle adventure first, then do everything else later? I can't decide.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I don't think I'm going to be able to do much of anything besides straight up versus for the first while because anytime I'd sit down to play it'd attract my roommates and I'd just end up fighting them. But definitely will be trying to unlock characters off the bat

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I would just like to say that strong evidence has been put forward indicating the inclusion of Lucario, Ness, and Jigglypuff.
http://wii.com/jp/movies/smashbros-movie1/ This is a promotional video for the game released in Japan. http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?i...p439380np6.jpg http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?i...p542612bd3.jpg These are images from the 4:20 mark. As you know, certain stickers can only be applied to certain characters. Even if you cannot speak Japanese, the logical deduction is that the icons shown when a sticker is selected shows what characters that sticker can be applied to. Two of the icons in the first image seem to strongly resemble Lucario and Jigglypuff, and the fact that the sticker is of a Pokemon reinforces this. The second sticker is of a MOTHER character, and the icons are of Lucas and some other kid with a red baseball cap. I am sorry if this has already been posted, but I had assumed the SSBBSB would have known about this sooner than the 20th if anyone else had known about it before the twentieth.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
That is definitely not Jigglypuff, that is absolutely Togepi :O
But this definitely makes sense, I think you might be right on this... omg ness =D [edit] Yeah.. Not convinced it's Ness, but I'm positive that's Togepi, and probably Lucario.. Hopefully those icons mean what you think they do. But oh god I hope it's Ness. [double edit] Oops yeah I see that being Jigglypuff now Last edited by Gano; 01-20-2008 at 11:17 PM.. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Oh, it seems Nintendo learned of this "leak" and white-spaced the writing down there. Well, there are still those who have seen the original video, quite a number of them.
And if you're not convinced it's Ness, who else has a red baseball cap and has PSI? That is what the sticker increases, after all. Plus they show PT in the previous image, and you can tell the icon is different. Edit: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pfb2l-iYlRo Original video. May get removed at the request of Nintendo, or maybe not.
