You have a point though, which is why I never understood the Republican platform of not wanting to help with immigration reform when a lot of them are hard workers but will sit there and complain about so-called 'lazy' Americans taking money they don't deserve. Especially since a lot and I mean A LOT of these people from Latin America have very conservative views. Wasted voting bloc IMO but I guess they gotta keep the xenophobes and racists in their party happy. I guess it's because if they keep the immigrants desperate and illegal, big companies and small companies alike can basically continue to hire people to work for them on slave wages and sometimes not even pay them at all. Or contract people from other countries for cheaper wages than hiring a qualified American individual just cause they don't want to give them benefits and all that. Seen it happen too many times already. A bunch of people getting laid off at Capital One including my dad cause they'd rather contract cheap workers from India. Our former roommate getting paid below minimum wage just like the rest of the illegal workers on the farm he worked at. My brother(s) also working for a lot less cause they are in the same situation as I am. Thankfully after my brother got married though he now is being paid what he should be paid at the same place... Only kept his job since there aren't many qualified TKD instructors in the area but he was taken advantage of as well, so. |
