I never understood the concept of bans, in most of any game. People play for fun; if cheating is what they find fun, then so be it. Although there is some criteria that excludes being forgiving; repeated offenses after warnings, and spamming high score boards (it's fun to see, realistically, what rank you are).

I think as long as someone doesn't do it again after a warning, they shouldn't be banned. I mean, we've all cheated in a game at some point. A warning, in most cases, just stops it altogether because of fear. I know that if in WoW you got a warning for buying gold instead of instant termination of account, a lot less people would be getting banned.

Just a small, unnecessary rant. This community seems to take cheaters a lot more seriously than any other game (excluding XBL). No offense, of course. n.n

Edit - Just to clarify, this rant wasn't directed at the current situation going on. It's just a generalization of what I have seen/read.

Naw, but I did a quick Google search and uncovered some of the stuff he did. I'm not sure what his first offense was, but getting his stats wiped for exploiting multiplayer did seem a little rash. However the way he acted in response (alt accounts, continuing, etc) was immature.

However, people should view those types of people with rose-tinted glasses. Although they do make a mistake, it's possible to change. n.n

I can also see this from the admin's view, though. If people see that you can cheat once and only get a warning, then what stops them from saying, "Hey, I have one chance to cheat. If I don't get caught, this would be great!", and many more would do it, causing a lot more work.

Both sides have merits, really. Oh well. :3

I'm just going to remove any score on hXc's account that was recorded with the default settings and depending on how many there are will impact the possibility of a blacklist.

I don't think a blacklist is necessary in this case. He has gotten many of his scores legitimately in the past. hX, just don't do it again alright?

EDIT: If anything, a temporary blacklist will suffice.

hakulyte used arrow slow down on one song and was blacklisted. he remained blacklisted for years

hx deserves the same for cheating multiple songs

This. I have nothing against hX but I really think that would be unfair for people who actually got banned for minor hacks. However, I never thought that would happen, not from him.

I was permabanned as damanwithdaskillz for using arrow slow down to AAA One Minute Waltz, then they unblacklisted me, and I was so mad at losing my scores I did the stupid and made mad forum drama until they would restore my scores (I was also a stupid 14 year old kid or something like that). I was permabanned for years on end, making around 8 alts, that regardless of cheating or legit, I got banned for because they were my alts. I actually had to sneak back on as stavie and play legit for years to reclaim any ounce of dignity or respect I ever (or never) had. It's really just not worth it.

I feel bad for Haku too, because slow arrow was a vague way of cheating back in the day. Yeah it was cheating, but I stumbled across it by accident when trying to clear files to get rid of lag, and just went with it for that day and got tons of absurd scores. I didn't know it was cheating or would get me blacklisted, even though I knew it wasn't legit. The point is don't get any scores you know you aren't getting the right way, because they will find out, and they will hunt you down.

Sorry hx, but I know what scores you are capable of getting, and I knew damn well that unless you were smoking some wacky **** or popping some super pills, you are not capable of getting the scores I posted legitimately. Sorry to hear that your scores got wiped, but the punishment fits the crime.
