Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
That accept rate is very high for both--Tass is going to cut at least half of those out, unless everyone somehow learned to step at the same time. :O

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Yeah I'm gonna start rejecting more files that suck even though there's nothing wrong with them. I didn't do that at the start of this batch but it's a good way to streamline judging into a manageable process.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
its about being open to different styles since you're still trying to cater to a less skilled audience at the same time. i found this very hard to do (not so much for patashue)
still i would reject files if there was a lack of fun value not just accept if theres nothing wrong with it but its still a snoozefest to play. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
if you have the right song it's really not that hard to make a super fun easy file
there's no point in accepting a file that's not fun but there's "nothing wrong with it" (if there was nothing wrong with it, chances are it would be fun too. unless you have a sucky song), because people generally won't play it if it's not fun. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
bad easy file see: zelda stormy
okay easy file see: nes-style eye of the tiger i couldn't really think of a good easy file; i'm assuming that anybody that can make a good easy file either doesn't make good easy files or doesn't try (theres probably a good easy file out there but none really come to mind) |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I definitely had many +. that I thought were borderline, and can very well be +? instead. Good files still stood out well.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
To me a good easy file is one that anyone can play and figure out what the notes go to. From watching friends go from zero rhythm game experience to passing 6's/7's without mashing, I can vouch for the fact that people notice which files go with the music and which ones don't. Technical factors that matter in a difficult file can be ignored as long as what you have makes sense without regards to technicality.
(ultra meta version) a good easy file follows the music perfectly while transcending technicality well I guess you could say that's any good file but it's easier to do that when you're working completely within the music for an easier file whereas in a harder file you're generally taking from the music to create the difficulty
