Honestly, I don't see why this is fun for the people actually doing it. I guess I can see the amusement in looking at the photos of it. But I've never tried it so I'm not going to be like omg that's dumb or something. But I do know it's getting dangerous. Someone died not all that long ago in Australia doing it.

I can't say it isn't amusing, that's for sure. It's also extremely easy and doesn't require any planning. So I can definitely see the appeal, though I don't think it's riotously funny like some people appear to. I reckon most of the hate is just hype backlash.

There was a "Planking" thread a while ago on this other forum I follow ... It feels so discordant seeing a fad reemerge under a different name, and then seeing it again on here. Silly Aussies.

I'm just going to leave this here...
