Default So I went to Alaska last month...(pictures)

Which was part of the reason why I disappeared off the site for a while earlier this summer. Anyways, while I was there, I took a few pictures and now that I finally have a new computer that allows me to upload pictures, I wanted to share a few with you guys.

If you've ever been to Alaska, then you'll understand that these pictures really don't do the place justice. It's absolutely gorgeous up there. I mostly visited the southeastern part of the state that borders British Columbia. Hopped into Canada a few times, but I didn't see any FFRers.

So without further ado, here's a small look at Alaska:

Interesting lighting.

No, it's not on fire.

FUCCEN TREES MAN HOLY ****

Bald eagle just chillin' in da bay lol. I was in Ketchikan getting on a boat when this guy just flew right in and landed on the sign. He was loud as **** too.

Easily the greatest sunset I have ever seen.

This is a river that the salmon run up. Missed the salmon run by a couple weeks oh well.

Flowers.

Shallow pool with a very interesting silty color.

Gigantic glacier...I think this one was something like 13 miles long and like half a mile wide where it met the water.

Definitely off the beaten path, eh?

More flowers.

I don't know what the **** these are, but they were pretty cool looking.

Sawtooth mountains.

~oPtIcAl IlLuSiOn~

This is not a waterfall.

Glaciers.

Mountains and ****.

I actually took this picture at like 11PM rofl.

EDIT: More!

Anyways, that's it. Just wanted to share a few good ones with you guys. If any of you ever get the opportunity to go up there, don't hesitate. It's amazing.

I actually got really lucky regarding the weather. Alaska sees something like 30 days of sunshine a year, and pretty much every day I was there it was about 65 degrees and sunny. A couple days we had some light rain, but it didn't get too cold. When the sun actually went down (at like 3 AM lol), it was probably 45 degrees. At the time of my visit I had just come from the Mojave Desert in Cali, so going to 65 degrees from 105 degrees was a welcome change.

Absolutely breathtaking.

I believe you on the pictures. This summer when I went to Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to see the Grand Canyon. At first, I didn't want to. I'd seen pictures before, and it really just seemed like a big hole.

When I was actually there though, my oh my. I almost fell over just from realizing how incredibly massive it truly is.

Alaska looks beautiful, you're one lucky dog. ;D

Definitely a trip I want to make in my life. Thanks for sharin' bro.

Awesome pictures! I recently read a thread on SA by a guy who went on a motorcycle trip through Alaska... he went into the Arctic Circle. Seeing that thread, and now your's, has really made me want to see Alaska! It looks beautiful. From the pictures you've posted, it looks very similar to Northern BC, somewhere I would love to go again!

The Grand Canyon is something I'd really like to see as well - definitely a future vacation for me, but I'd rather go in the fall or the winter because I get enough of 100+ degree temperatures as it is.

The pictures are for the taking by the way. I know I'm not a professional photographer by any means, but if you want a larger version of some of these pictures just let me know and I'll get them to you. As of now, all the pictures I posted are 800x600, but my originals are 2800x2100.

None of my pictures were edited with photoshop. I don't even have it.

EDIT: I see which one you're talking about. The one with the rays of sunlight? I have 4 or 5 other similar shots, but that one came out the best and with the most individual rays of light. Most had 3 or 4 rays, but this one had like 8 or 9 I think. Pretty cool.

EDIT2: Here's another one:

This one has a pretty sweet glacier in it too.

Exact same thing when I went to Arizona. It's something you can't take a picture of to get the actual feel.

Those are some neat photos. Especially the mountains.

Alaska is something I'd like to see one day. Isn't it neat how it doesn't get dark until after midnight during mid-summer? xD

Now I'm just jealous of my friend Annie who lives in Alaska. It looks simply breathtaking with those pictures.
